Great plug-and-play kit, authentic.
First off, I highly recommend the Lakka linux distrobution build for the GPI case; as it is designed from the ground up to operate off the device. The cores (emulators) are pre-installed, and the buttons pre-mapped based on the case hardware. If you wish, the Lakka OS can also be linked to RetroAchievements for more of a modern; console style experience. The case works great, with minimal setup. I've thoroughly enjoyed being able to swap out the cartridge-style pi0 between different retro-flag bases, having one at home and another at work. The pinout will even seat old DMG style game-boy cartridges, although the GPI base by itself cannot natively play them.I'd recommend rechargeable batteries if you want a truly portable build, however the device does come with a USB power adapter cable included. It would be great to see additional case styles in the future, particularly the GBA (flat)

Great way to customize your retro portable gaming experience!
I am really satisfied with quality of this handheld. It was easy to put together and exceeded my expectations. My only complaint is the lack of a rechargable battery but I overcame that by using rechargable AA batteries. I would most definitely recommend this GPI Case.

Great machine, but I used your instructions as toilet paper.
Okay, so first off the quality of this product is top-notch! It's a great little machine that "if configured correctly" it will blow your mind with it's quality. HOWEVER, the key here is to "configure it correctly". And IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH RETRO PI & THE RASPBERRY PI FAMILY, then this product may not be for you. Simply because there is quite a bit of setting up and configuring to do. There are some work around solutions however, all of this does include download software that you may not be familiar with. IF YOU DON'T CONFIGURE THIS CORRECTLY THEN THIS NEAT LITTLE MACHINE WILL BE JUST A USELESS PAPERWEIGHT. I will praise RetroFlag for this Gpi Case system, but I give them low marks on their instructions. They really need to step up there "game" on supplying software support. I suggest throwing their crappy instructions away and research online: "best ways to setup Retroflag gpi". A few good websites I have found is howchoo.com and stevecombs.com. Both have very good step by step tutorials. Oh, and watch out for "accidently" downloading copy-protected software from some dodgy site. We wouldn't want to do that! And it's probably a good idea to use a VPN.Happy gaming!

ACES!
I'm a Pi nerd and happily spend my time cobbling together devices. However, pricing out the parts for this myself would have cost a bit more and then I'd have to deal with a 3D printer. Retroflag's case is easy to set up and get to playing. Install only took a few minutes (not including OS setup) and I easily set it up to appear as a network folder over wifi so I can drag and drop new games onto it on the fly. Love it!Just know that the device is limited by the Pi ZeroW itself, and while you can play 8bit and most 16bit games without issue it will really struggle on render intensive titles like the original Star Fox or other RARE games on SNES.

Hard to setup and AWEFUL quality and support
The media could not be loaded. Unit is DOA. Turn it on and the screen backlight turns on, but the product never starts up. Lost of troubleshooting, SD card rebuilds, pulling and reinstalling the compute module. Many issues with this product1. The Raspberry Pi compute module only snaps in, does not mount in. The case covers the area where the compute module goes so it is very very hard to get your fingers down there to snap in. No way you will ever be able to use screws, which don't even come with it.2. Doesn't allow the use of the heat sink3. Doesn't allow the wifi antenna4. Comes with no instructions and absolutely no support. Not even a website to get technical support, just a little FAQ on a product info page with no info technical suggestions. No troubleshooting. No troubleshooting youtube. Nothing5. Gives no indication at all of any issue allowing to further troubleshoot, just a blank screen.6. I have not been able to use, but I can tell the DPad is garbage. It is super small and super mushy.I absolutely, positively wouldn't recommend this product even if you are very schooled in retro gaming or the Raspberry Pi.Definitely the worst product I think I have ever bought.

Great authentic retro experience.
Excellent case and very much having the feel of the original Gameboy both in size and weight. Authentic experience with the batteries, cartridge and screen brightness and volume controls.Be sure to download a made for this case image onto your SDCard as setup of retropie from the official source can be challenging.Highly recommend.
