Works Perfect. Exact replacement.
Functions perfectly. The recoil was easy for me to replace. The sizing is perfect. Bolts, lock nuts and washers included. Looks to be the same manufacturer but the dogs were upgraded from the OEM.

PERFECT MATCH
Exactly Briggs OEM to my 917377823-Craftsman lawnmower going on 30 years old and still works fantastic. The original part broke and how to drill out the rivets. The vendor even supplies the screws lock washer and nuts with nylon inside.

The recoil starter assembly was a good fit and worked very well with no anomalies for a couple of months. The handle on the end of the cord could be made better or at least different. Like many handles on this type of starter assembly, the cord is run through the handle from the bottom to the top of the handle. A knot is then put at the top to keep the cord from being pulled back through the handle. The problem is, the handle material is too soft to keep the cord with the knot from being pulled through the handle. The handle pulled off the cord. You may want to add the following suggestion to this item. I took a metal pin and cut it to the size of the top portion of the handle, that has a groove there. i tied the cord around the pin and sealed the end of the cord so it wouldn't untie. I have no more problems with the unit. It is made very well with the exception of what I just stated.

Fit perfectly
Ordered this for my husband as a replacement part worked great for the lawnmower that we have that is barely 1 year old. Fit right on and now he can cut the grass again!

Works like it should…
Took me two minute to put it on and get it going again, pull cord seems to be a lil short when attached to original handle that holds the pull grip. But it works…

Quality built but fit problem!
It had a thicker base than original,(hold down nuts still went on) and it was a little larger in diameter and would not fit the opening on debris shield. I used sandpaper and a 1inch belt sander to reduce the diameter to allow the fit. Other than that it was very well built.
