Pen feels amazing in the hand. Writes like a dream. Feels great in the hand, good weight, smooth action (? is that the word for it?) and doesn't eat or leak ink.Lovely pen.

Lamy Delivers on Writing Performance
I have been collecting fountain pens for over 20 years, and use all of them. Somehow, Lamy was missing from my collection, as I thought it would not write as well as the more expensive pens. I could not have been more wrong. All of the Lamys (Studio, 2000, Logo and Safari) are among the best writing pens I own. The qualities of a great fountain pen -- smooth writing, design, balance -- are all there. Simply put, I do not own a fountain pen, at any price, that is superior to the Lamy. Sure, you can get fancy ones with hand-painted lacquer barrels and solid gold nibs, but they do not write any better than this. Highly recommended.

I once had a black '59 Chevy with Chrome baby moons....
This pen is a pleasure from the first moment you pick it up out of the box: the weight of it with the exactness of fit in construction is so nice with each little snap as you open, close, or post the pen. Every day carry for sure.At first I wrote with it unposted, for I did not want to chance any scratches on such a fine pen. Then, by chance, one time I posted the cap while writing--I heartily recommend this way as the added weight of the cap adds a balance to the pen which is a noticable jump in quality of the writing experience. I am running Noodler's Heart of Darkness in the pen and laying down a lot of ink. I look for any reason to use this pen. Well done; it is a great pen. The black with the chrome wheels makes it a hot rod that gets noticed. I may order a black nib to check out how that looks...swap back and forth.

Disappointed
I have 3 other Lamy pens that i love and have thoroughly enjoyed. The pen itself has a nice weight but I haven't yet tried writing with it as it's a gift. Firstly, the packaging had been squished in the plastic shipping bag. It's only a heavy paper or card stock sort of 'case' whereas my other pens arrived in much nicer and sturdier packaging for less expensive pen models. The packaging in my opinion is just cheap and shoddy, especially for the price. Secondly, as far as I can gather, there was supposed to be an ink cartridge included with the pen since the color is indicated as black. I received no ink. The first picture shows the physical parts of the pen that were in the package. Overall my impression is not good, however I do have several other Lamy fountain pens that I enjoy using very much.

Buy the Safari instead.
The pen looks great, but doesn't function the same. I have two $24.50 Lamy Safaris and they're amazing: super smooth, light, and easy to hold. The studio, at almost triple the price, is slippery, heavy, and most damning, writes poorly. Very scratchy, not at all fluid like the Safari, and half the time you're writing any given word it doesn't leave any ink. I swapped out different ink cartridges, but it didn't help. I'm really surprised and bummed at just how awful this pen is.Save yourself the money and a headache. Get the Safari.

Awesome pen
This pen writes beautifully with all nibs but the only problem is that under the paper clip, it was chipped away the paint. But I still love it anyway.

Great pen… but the packaging
This is a 3.5 review. Nothing went wrong with the delivery and the product is great, so for the sake of being objective, I rounded up.But, this was a pen in a plastic sleeve in a bubble mailer… no box, nothing. Generally if I’m willing to pay +$50 for a pen, I’d like it to be presented to me a little more ceremoniously than your run of the mill Bic ballpoint.Again, the pen itself is great. The Lamy medium nib is perfect for how I write, and it has excellent weight. I already like it way more than the Safari.
