Idiot-proof, solid performance product!
I don't usually write reviews, but I really felt the need to do so for this product. It was right on the money and worked so perfectly the moment I hooked it up to my Chromecast and to my older flat-screen LCD non-HDMI TV (2005 Syntax Olevia), via the Composite (Yellow/White/Red) input on my TV. With a million different types of converters available today, the marketing team for this company has done a bang-up job of making sure to drive the point home about what this converter is meant to do, first of all, with a clear product name on Amazon that clearly shows that it is meant to be used as an interface between HDMI devices like a Chromecast and non-HDMI TVs. The product photos on Amazon also clearly showed that the product includes the composite cable and a power splitter cable that can leverage the one power brick that comes with the Chromecast to power both the converter and the Chromecast. Most other HDMI to Composite converters I searched for on Amazon didn't have composite cables included. The instructions included in the packaging with pictures and simple step-by-step connection instructions made it so idiot-proof, which is exactly what you want in a non-mainstream gadget like this that's trying to get two devices to talk, that don't typically talk with each other directly. I read another review here that this cannot be used with a new disc-shaped Chromecast and that it only works with the older type of Chromecast. That is false, because I am using it with the latest-generation (non-4K disc-shaped) Chromecast and it works perfectly. I connected it to an old 2005 model 32" Syntax Olevia LCD flat-screen TV that only has composite (yellow/white/red), component (Y/Pb/Pr) and S-Video inputs, but no HDMI input. I wanted to watch something as I'm working out on my Elliptical in the basement and wanted something better than a tablet or a phone; and this old TV that I had lying around was put to great use due to the magic of Chromecast and this Bleiden HDMI to Composite converter.

Works Great With Amazon Fire Stick 4K
Even though I am using the Fire Stick 4K, the resolution is dialed down to 720p because there's no point in pushing the higher resolution. The converter works fine with 1080p as well but considering my CRT is 480p, I'd rather not push the Fire Stick with no gains and push the adapter to have to downscale the additional pixels. It may be presumptuous of me to think that lower settings means less heat generated equals longer life, but again there's no perceived benefit otherwise.Just plug n' play. Just match the connector to their correct socket and match the RCA colors. I used a zip tie to hold the box on the wire itself since it's pretty lightweight. Works straight out of the box. I did change a few settings on the Fire Stick like screen positioning, which left a small black bar at the left, however this is a limitation of the settings provided by the Fire Stick and not the converter's fault. This is RCA so don't expect HD quality on your CRT. That said, the picture is pretty clear and would fall between Cable TV quality to DVD quality. There are cheaper converters out there but I got burned on the first cheaper one I bought that had decent reviews. This time I didn't want to go through that again and got this one.

GET THIS CONVERTER FOR YOUR AMAZON FIRE STICK!
I shop at Amazon all the time. Here’s a tip: Buy this converter and not the other Bleiden converter for the Fire Stick that’s listed on Amazon for $10 more. This company seems to have a bunch of listings. One of them is for the Amazon Fire Stick and this one is for the Fire Stick, Chromecast, etc. THIS CONVERTER WORKS PERFECTLY FOR THE AMAZON FIRE STREAMING STICK. It is great and it is $10 LESS EXPENSIVE. I don’t really understand the price difference but this one works GREAT! I am using it with my old TV that doesn’t have HDMI and it works perfectly. The instructions for installation are very easy. The package contains everything you need for installation. You will use your Fire Stick (obviously) and the Fire Stick’s power adapter and power cable. The converter comes with its own power adapter.Once I had this connected to my TV and the Fire Stick connected to my wifi network, I had the full functionality of my Amazon Fire TV Stick at my fingertips. Everything worked as expected. Spending $30 on this was a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new TV and I really don’t mind that I’m not watching in high definition.I personally didn’t need support, but I was happy to see that Bleiden has email and website support available. The information is on the instructions and the packaging that I received, so I didn’t feel like they were some fly-by-night company that was going to be impossible to find if I needed support. All-in-all, I’m thrilled with my purchase.

Good for adapting older TV to Chromecast
We have two of these. We use them with Chromecasts to case content, usually from an iPad, to an older TV that does not have HDMI. It works surprisingly well. But it is important to know if will broadcast to your older TVs with the 4:3 aspect ratio in full screen. In some cases the image appears to be squeezed from the sides, and in some cases parts of the image appear to be cut off compared to wide screen. I would prefer it broadcast to letterbox, but have not found any way to make that happen. Older programming designed for 4:3 is cast beautifully.
