Modern day Boyz In The Hood in the Chicago neighborhood of Englewood. William Cochran s directing debut, Englewood boldly blends humor, romance, tragedy, and hope of three friends struggling to get through their last year of high school. Amid street violence, peer pressure, and family dysfunction these friends pull through. Dennis', (Cochran) antisocial behavior conceals his talents. His girlfriend Toya can see through his thug exterior, but her encouragement might not be enough.

Englewood isn't a flawless film. There are performances that are a tad hit-and-miss, while the film's pacing does on occasion miss a bit in a way that lessens a scene's dramatic impact. Brutally honest, a lot of profanity and street language, and an eye opener for some
This was a entertaining and realistic film about the lives of three seniors in high school and their relationships with their families. Each teen wanted a better way in life but the reality of the obstacles they had to face are a realistic view of what inner city kids have to overcome daily. The profanity depicted in the film was real even if it's hard to accept by some viewers. The family problems, happen too often, and this was also realistic, even if it seems brutally harsh. The videography was cheesy, not as crisp as big budget films but it didn't get in the way of the storyline of the movie. This movie will keep you interested as you want to find out what happens to the characters. If may seem like a common plot but it gets surprisingly shocking near the end. There are some twists.Well done B movie

I enjoyed the movie but was lost at the end. Dennis' mother explained, in the interview with the reporter that her son was in church every Sunday and bible class every Wednesday but I didn't see any of that. The only way I could make sense of that is if Calvin was his brother and she was referring to him. Anyone else???

It has a good message I'm sure but its moving to slow
It has a good message I'm sure but its moving to slow, its be rated and the acting is horrible! Its like watch a stage play with a a grey picture! Why do people insist on making b-rated movies! They are always awful!

This was a good movie, better than I expected
This was a good movie, better than I expected. Theven profanity in this movie was no more or less than most movies so I don't know how someone can say it had too much profanity unless they are living on the moon. When D money mother was saying she keep him in church, she was lying, plain and simple. It had nothing to do with Calvin. Smh, what planet these people live on?
