so it works better for parents
I just posted a review of the Nerf Modulus ECS-10 and my experiences with it and the three accessory kits I purchased. This review repeats my thoughts about the Strike and Defend kits. You can find my whole review under the ECS-10, or you can find my reviews for the Long Range Upgrade Kit, the Flip Clip, and the Strike and Defend kit on their respective pages. "The final accessory kit we got was the Strike and Defend kit. This one has some redeeming value. It has a shield that can attach to any of the rail mounts. Hypothetically, you could get three of them for maximum defense. The shield can flip down if it interfering with your aim, but does add a little protection around the face. The other component is a a much more stable stock. This stock is a bit longer, so it works better for parents. It also doubles as a single shot holdout blaster (you an detach the stock and fire a single round out of it). This attachment is totally worth the additional expense. My only issue with this set is that the four year old wants to use the stock as HIS blaster, so he can play with me and the 9 year old (which means I don't really get the bonus stability). I'd rate this kit as a 5 star item."

Sweet new stock and shield
This stock is amazing. Barrel is on the top of the stock really easy to cock also a rail on top of the stock. Stock dose not wobble like most nerf stocks do. The tactical shield was really helpful in my last nerf war. It can fold down for storage and transport. I would buy 2 more of these one for my modulus an one for my Reacon CS-6.

Great gift for Nerf fans
We bought this for our son and he loved it. He played with it for a while, but now it seems to be hanging out with other seldom used toys. I don't think it is a bad toy, I just think it didn't excite him as much as he thought it would.

Nerf mania
My son really wanted this. He watched some guy on youty, talk endlessly about this gun and all the components. He saved up enough money for it too. At first we went to go look for it locally. But the stores that "said" they had it didn't. So we got it online. He loves it. He showed me how to put it together and take it apart three times in one week. More Nerf bullets to add to the inventory around my house, yay.

Living our childhood through our children.
Perfect for our boys to shoot each other? Not sure how to rate/review this. Yes the bullets are obnoxious and the boys leave them everywhere and the cat helps by carting them around also. The crying is wonderful, after they willing start playing yet cry because one hit the other? Maybe the best part is when they whine that they have nothing to play with....otherwise this was the perfect addition to the $50 gun with a bizillion add-ons that we (for no good reason) felt they must have.

Would I recommend it? Probably not as a set.
The stock w/ built-in single-shot blaster is decent in terms of being long enough for those with longer arms and needing a long stock. As a blaster, it however is sadly lacking. There's the main issue that it cannot fire straight on most blasters you'd attach it to, and the fact that time has to be taken to actually detach it from whatever blaster the stock was attached to. The stock blaster would have been perfect if the barrel could at least be angled up to 45 degrees so that it could fire over the rails or attachments on a Nerf blaster or could be raised about an inch or so in a pop-up like manner to fire over most blasters' rails (assuming no scopes were added and only relying on any built-in "iron" sights). Then also add a detachment switch closer to the trigger so Nerfers could detach the stock blaster single-handedly. As to the shield, not much to say other than it's "ok". It's rather small and unlikely to do much other than allow you to hide sections of your head while aiming down the sights (assuming the shield is attached to side rails). It's also not as transparent as the super-soaker shield attachments, which may cause aiming difficulties when used in front of Nerf scopes that have cheap transparent plastic (Nitron scope for one). The only three pluses are the ability to mount more than one more easily than the Stampede's shield and still retain frontal visibility while also covering a bit more than the old side-shield exclusive to a certain super soaker blaster, the fact it can mount to more blasters without conflict unlike the former two, and the fact it's also more readily available to purchase. The shield itself would have been much better if it was at least an inch to two inches taller with a more secure snap-lock into position and could adjust its position on its base in a forward-to-back manner to better fit it around scopes, grip points, and other attachments. Would I recommend it? Probably not in set form. The stock blaster alone may find some use for those needing a longer stock before resorting to 3D-printed stocks, and as a last-ditch Jolt. The shield itself is more decorative rather than useful.

AMAZING AND MUCH BETTER THAN EXPEXTED!!!!!
AMAZING!!!!! I am very impressed by this stock gun and shield! The stock is a nice size for adults but maybe a little big for small children. The gun shoots far and is even better than imagined. The shield is great but is a little small however it covers the mouth area very nicely. MUCH BETTER THAN EXPEXTED!!!!!!!

This is a great upgrade. First and foremost, the blast shield is operationally useless and actually impedes your aim. It looks cool on the blaster though. Enough said. I'd like to focus more on the stock. The stock attaches to the Modulus or any compatible blaster platform. i.e. Nerf Stryfe, etc. When attached, it goes on quite solidly. It is definitely a marked improvement over the flimsy stock that comes with the Modulus blaster itself. You will need to detach the stock to use the blaster feature. The blaster itself is surprisingly powerful compared to what I was expecting. It is actually very strong. It shoots one dart at a time and comes with 2. Works great as a little backup blaster in case you need that "one last shot".

I got this for 8 dollars so it is absolutely worth the price. If you buy it for the regular price it may be a harder decision. The stock is very long and feels great. The stock feels uncomfortable when in your hand but that is to be expected. The shield doesn’t block darts much but it looks cool and could be helpful if you only peak out a little
