Great Saw, Great Price, saws great
This saw works fantastically. It’s comfortable, the blade securely locks in place, the body is metal as well as the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a plastic cover but other than that it’s metal. I made user error I’m so used to my Carpenrter hand saw, I forgot this is a Japanese style saw, it cuts on the backstroke, or when you pull the saw. After I remembered this important fact the saw cut perfectly and is quite aggressive. It has 9 teeth per inch and is not as aggressive as a saw that has 7 teeth per inch. It has triple cut teeth and cut quickly through green and dry wood both. I tested it on the maximum cut diameter of 4” on all cuts, no problems. It even cut a 5” piece. If you find yourself in that situation it did cut no problems but you need to use caution. I’m older and have 40 years experience of experience both hiking in and packing in on horseback in Montana, Colorado, Texas, California. I’d take this saw without hesitation. One thing you learn out in country be prepared for failure of equipment. That’s why I test anything I buy without mercy before it travels with me. I bought this saw when I saw the list of endorsements of who uses it, so I thought I’d give it a try. So far it’s performing perfectly. I personally rely on an arsenal of tools that will get me back home. Saw, good camp axe, good knife. All axe and knife are multi functional. I Cary a tooth brush (orange in color to clean teeth while sawing a lot of wood. Have fun, be safe and enjoy.

This saw is a beast
Saw is awesome. Like the longer blade. Blade had stayed very sharp. I use it cutting brush for duck blinds and trimming shooting lanes for deer hunting. The blade is very strong and domes not bend like the cheap ones from Walmart. Well worth the money.

Solid, safe, effective and compact -- but a bit heavy
Bought this as a replacement for a similar camping saw that was much lighter, but much flimsier. That one lasted me through many camping trips in the woods, but there was always this fear that the locking mechanism would fail or the plastic handle would break, leading to injury (which could be bad when you're in the middle of nowhere). This saw resolves all those fears - it's solid and easily cuts through thick wood (i sawed a 4" diameter branch with no issues, which would have been problematic with the older one), with a much more secure locking mechanism , thicker blade, sturdier and grippier handle. The ONLY issue (and it's a big issue if you're looking for ultimate portability) -- it's quite heavy.Great saw overall though.

Maybe not for palm trees but good purchase
I got this little nifty saw to take care of my palm trees (full disclosure for this review, I'm a young girl). I was like "wow, cuts through bone and wood. No way!" Anyways. An hour and a half later I got my palm trees all fixed up but it was by no means an easy task. The saw kept doing this thing where it would bend backwarks, passed the lock towards my hand and get stuck in the spikey branches of the tree. It also took a lot of power to get it through each branch. I would say it could definitely cut off your finger but if you were more interested in something like a femur I'd go a little bit more heavy duty.Update:Was contacted by the company after submitting my review with some tips and tricks for using the saw which was honestly really nice of them. I updated my review from 3 to 5 stars because after using it around my house a little more for other tasks I've found it to be very useful. Cuts through semi-alive palms and my peach tree very easily. Those pesky dead palms are just a nightmare in themselves. I'd say it was a good purchase and I genuinely like the thing.

Great saw, amazing customer service, buy with confidence!
This saw is great! I use it to cut both fresh limbs (I’ve cut branches up to 5 inches) and dried wood. I found it cuts both very well. It is really well built, super sturdy, tight, locks up nicely and securely. I’ve carried it in a pocket, and felt secure that the blade wouldn’t open. It came extremely sharp and seems to hold its edge very well. One time I was cutting a piece of wood and hit a screw pretty hard. I took a few cuts back and forth before I realized this. The screw dulled the blade. It still cuts, but much more slowly. I wrote the company about purchasing another blade, making it clear that the damage was my fault. They responded within 12 hours, and to my surprise are sending me a new saw for free, even though the damage was my user error. Unbelievable. Let this give you confidence buying this saw. Companies this good deserve your business. They certainly have mine.

like they suggest it really does cut best on the ...
Used it for the first time today teaching the wife how to harvest dead fall. Take into account that this is my first folding saw, but for the things that happened I have pro's and con's. Pro's are that when they say durable, they mean it. I got overzealous and attacked a full 6" branch and against their recommendation I was sawing back and forth, it got hung up on a pinch point, must have bent at least 2-3". I just pulled it free, no damage at all, not normal with saws I usually use. It is small enough when folded to fit in the little cargo pocket on my old Carhart pants, you know the ones, the diagonal short ones and I got through the 6" oak in maybe 5 mins. Not a pro or con, just a heads up, like they suggest it really does cut best on the pull stroke. Now for con's, I wish the closed position had a lock or at least a little tension, when you pull it out if you let go just a little, it will open. The pinion screw is a little janky, it was way too loose when it was delivered, I tightened it 1/8th a turn and it was way too tight. As I was sawing I think it even loosened a little, maybe a screw or pin lock to keep it where you like it would be nice. So, the overall? I don't regret the buy one bit, is it the best? Of course not, is it a very durable, perfectly functioning, small enough to pocket and worth it's price? Heck yea it is, I am more than satisfied with the price I paid and the quality I got.
