Reading will never b the same😁
I have had one of these for about 30 years & it still works perfectly. This one was for my daughter. You'll find you can't live without it😁

A simply wonderful reading accessory
I bought a Book Magic clip at a going-out-of-business drugstore sale about 10 years ago. I treasured it until it was lost a few years ago. I grieved inconsolably and, pathetically, even tried to make my own. So I am thrilled I was finally able to find a replacement through Amazon. This is a simple yet extremely effective device that holds the pages of your book open without significantly obstructing your view. It works on all sizes of books, soft- and hardback, and--contrary to some book-place-holders--it's a snap to turn pages. It turns your book into a rigid rectangle so that you can lay it on the pillow beside you in bed if you're a side-sleeper, on your torso/chest if you're so inclined, or on your lap on the sofa, etc. Best of all, it fits on the rack of any piece of gym equipment so I've logged/endured many hours on the treadmill while entertained by my latest read. If you reduce the angle of "open-ness" of your book, you can make it stand up on its own. This is handy for a cookbook or manual so that you can keep your hands free.I have had one disappointment. Last week when I thought I was being flirted with on the elliptical machine, I was actually being approached about my Book Magic clip.

It does its job
I mostly read paperbacks and it holds the book open the best when I’m in the middle of the book. But the beginning and end of the books have an uneven amount of pages on either side, this device cannot hold the book open perfectly. But it’s basic physics, I just work around it. For the price, and the fact that it does the job perfectly for at least the middle 50% of the book, makes this product worth it.

Strong
Pictured is a very very thick book. The paperback has made my thumb joints very very swollen and painful for days, so I was glad to quickly receive my new book magic clip stand. I didn’t know if it would be strong enough for such a big thick book. You really don’t have to move it because you can see through it. Turning pages is no big deal. Hooray! This works.

Annoying for paperbacks
OK, so I'm a paperback reader. I have one of those $4 Fellowes stands which holds the book upright, but doesn't keep the top of the paperback open. I was hoping the Book Magic Book Clip would be the answer. Well, it is and it isn't. Yes, it holds the pages apart and works well in conjunction with the stand. But to turn the page, I have to remove the book from the stand, completely remove the Book Clip, flip the pages, put the book back in the stand, put the Book Clip back on. It's annoying and makes too much work just to read a paperback (and smaller pages equals more page turns). Oh well, off to find another solution to the problem. This isn't it.---1 week later---Now I've used the Book Clip while reading a paperback on the train. Hey, it works. Still a pain to take on and off, but it definitely holds the pages flat. Tired it on a hardback over the weekend, but the hardback I used didn't have a way to slip the Book Clip down the binding, so it was worthless for that. Great for the train, though.

Researcher's delight
I do a lot of research work and often have two or three books open on my desk next to my computer. This book clip is an invaluable tool for helping me quickly and effectively to hold the books open while I type in the quoted material. When engaged in a serious research and writing project, I often take a book with me for lunch when I grab a quick bite to eat. Instead of watching children jump around McDonald's Playland, I open my book, insert my book clip and can read two whole pages while eating. Then I can easily turn the page and re-insert the clip.I have ordered several of these not only because I might have several books open at once, but in case I misplace the book clip. I am so used to it I hate to be without it.They are also fashionable when worn on the ear -- much like those little cell phones that some people wear around. By the way, I am kidding about this. If you wear a book clip around your ear, they may not let you in McDonalds. In fact, I am not sure they would even let you in Burger King. :)

Very Handy
I'm enjoying this book clip a LOT... I eat alone more often than not and I tend to read while eating.. previously I had been using a butterfly style paper clip as my book mark (for years now) and it helped but I would still have to weigh down the pages of my book to get it to lay open hands free, and with this clip it stands the book up or lays it flat perfectly..the cons:it does block text a bit so I slide it up and down a bit while reading so not entirely hands free, but then again it's better than any others I've tried so farAlso it appears metal in the picture, as others have said it's plastic coated, and mine has a couple of rough spots on the under side of the bend where I can see rough metal through it or else I would have considered stripping off the plastic.. the plastic makes it too "grippy"Because of the plastic it doesn't slide as easily so it makes it a bit more difficult to change pages, but it's really not that big of a deal..All in all I would recommend this clip and I will be ordering a few a more of these soon :)
