No More Rules: Graphic Design and Postmodernism (Mini) Paperback – May 21, 2013

Great book! I recommend reading American Moderism and then this, but there is awesome content here. In addition, the first book never arrived but the seller quickly sent another one with a quick note. :)

I love it!!! It is a beautiful book!!! I start reading it, and it gives very clear idea on post modernism. I hope I will get lots of insights from this pretty book. Keep working on it!!!

This is literally one of the only books published about Postmodern graphic design. It's comprehensive in scope, history and context. If you're looking for a book about Postmodern graphic design, you won't find anything better than this.

Rick Poynor gives an excellent account of the origins of and varied expressions of Postmodernism in Graphic Design. This book is a valuable starting point for investigating self expression in graphic design and how art history and literary theory informed designers to break free from the dogma of late Modernism and corporate graphic design.

Great product!

I purchased it for a college course and it served its purpose. It's a decent little book for a decent price.

Not a bad book for a graphic design book but not too much interest to me. A required book for my college-age son's graphic design class.

This is a well illustrated book that presents a variety of key trends in graphic design in the US, Britain and Europe. The writing is detailed and well researched making the theories behind the changes in design understandable. It is not an easy read as the theories were complex, but they are made accessible and multiple social and technological influences are laid bare. I strongly recommend Poynor as a writer; he is insightful and accessible. The ideas behind the competing trends, and their relationship to modernist ideas of graphic design are very clear. I will be reading more of this author’s work soon.
