Don't know. Am not using them on archival or historic items. Thjs glue is fast, easy and washes out easily. Acid free is pretty particular. I doubt acid free of any kind would be the same price as this glue stick.

Q: Is it water soluble to use for basting fabrics and not gumming up your machine?

Personally, I would not use this for "basting"unless it's a small wall hanging. If machine is gumming that could be a real problem. Schmetz needles now come in a no stick line of different sizes. Have been quilting for quite a while. 505 spray does have a bit of smell. A very light spray works wonders for securing the batting to the fabric.. As a last suggestion, consider a very large/wide/long zig zag to secure pieces of batting or fabrics. (unless the machine only does straight stitch). This glue has been used on several different sewing projects and have been overall pleased. Have not seen any glue residue after project is washed.

They come in a single white Amazon Basics Box, very neatly packed in. I use them for 3D printing, but you should have no issue gifting to a class room.

I think this is better suited for construction paper. I might recommend a tacky glue like Elmer's fir the pom poms and foam.

Great but Odd Smell

This glue works great. I have been using it for scrapbooking multi-media into the covers of photo books (tickets, entry bracelets, maps, etc). The purple colour does not last too long. It dries nice and clear and does not feel overly sticky if you get it on yourself. Washes up quite nice and no problems at all with my items coming apart after.Only draw back is it does have an odd smell. It is noticeable during use.Have purchased 60 more. They dry well. Pleased.

The purple colour is great, but it changes to clear really quickly. I found it works really well for wrapping gifts.
