What type of curtain can you use. I was in the curtain shop today and was told by the sales assistant that I would only be able to use a certain type

You can only use curtain hooks; curtains with pole rings won't fit. I used a wide tape on floor length curtains, and set the hooks in the bottom row so the top of the curtain covered the track. Weight wise, I don't recall a limit on this track, my curtains are thick, lined jacquard 60wx90l -very heavy. I was careful which wall fixings I used. The track has worked well for months.
