Amazing, fast shipping
Omg, so awesome! So happy to have my own textbook for AP Psych at such a low price! More than happy with this. None of the pages were messed up, for anyone wanting to know. I'm so happy with this book.

I Couldn't Be More Pleased
Considering undertaking a Psych degree, I decided to get a jump on the reading material. However, I didn't want to spend over $100 for a textbook which I might or might not be using. This 7th edition (rather than the requisite 8th), at a fraction of the cost is perfect for my needs. Interesting reading in a compelling and varied format. A tremendous resource that will help me get a head start on the subject matter. Also the text arrived in excellent condition (as described) within just a few short days of ordering.

Textbook Review
The textbook is not the exact same as what is given at my college, but it works just as well. It is very useful and the purchase was worth it.

Weiten's Work of Fiction
This text was required reading for my psychology degree and quite frankly had the writer's personal opinions stamped all over the end of chapter conclusions. So much so, that often the conclusions would totally contradict the supporting research quoted within the chapter itself. Sometimes one chapter had contradictory conclusions to another, and so on. I guess there were many contributing writers involved with this project, and to that end, these words come to mind... too many cooks spoil the broth. There is a lot to be learned from this book by the student with the ability to weed out the fiction from the fact. Unfortunately, as this is supposed to be a book steeped in the methods of science, it seems rather bizarre that the author takes license on many occasions with the facts, to present some obviously personal and unfounded views. Having been one of the few students who read this text from front to back several times --I was top of my class-- I was quite annoyed that Weiten makes what is arguably a science --the most complex science in my opinion-- and manages to make it seem almost tabloid in nature. For a text that was published in 2007, it's completely out of touch with current research into the genetic component of psychological disorders. One further criticism would be the web site that is offered as a companion, it is clunky and dreadfully slow, and the only good thing about it is that it offers each chapter in a downloadable PDF format. I wish all education texts did this. The previous edition had a companion CD which was equally as clunky to navigate about, but at least you didn't have to wait forever for the content to download. To any course coordinator/program directors reading this, please choose another text. From the little of what I saw of Baron's text, it seemed much better than this one.

It is a textbook
Psychology textbook. Lots of new ideas by the author on how to present the material to the student so they learn better. The material was covered quite in depth so far. I think it is more material than today's students need.Shopping on Amazon for this book was well worth it!!!
