Excellent book for learning to take your models from SketchUp to Layout. It presents the function of going from a finished model to bring the model into Layout in a very organized manner and is easy to understand.

Very useful. Got me past many questions I was having with creating floor plans from 3-D files. Good step-by-step instructions.

Excellent for people who know everything about modeling with SketchUp and wish to utilize its seamlessly powerful interface to create detailed construction drawings. My goal is to stop using AutoCAD altogether and move to using SketchUp to create my construction drawings and this book gives a perfect workflow strategy and crucial productivity boosting tips to do just that.

An excellent and extremely well assembled book on everything I needed to know about both SketchUp and LayOut. I use it as an invaluable reference guide.

I am not so experienced at sketchup pro and I need to create working drawings

Really good guide to get well beyond the basics of Layout. I liked it so much in that I now require it for a SketchUP class I teach. Well worth the money.

I came back to update my post now that I have finished jumping hoop after hoop from their marketing. This book is pretty much just a way to market other times and pay per month or day subscriptions for plugins and his friends products. Expect the marketing.All in all it took me 5 days to download the book and get the files that came with it. I had already finished the book and created my own skp and outlook files by the time I got the whole package.To get the files that come with the book:1. Go to the books website and click chat or send a message requesting information of how to get the files.2. Get an email a day or two later, send back proof of purchase from Amazon.3. Get an email telling you to go to a link to get the files.4. Click you do not want to make an account with DropBox.(you are going to see this step a lot and I mean a lot).5. Fill out the forms subscribing to their marketing newsletter or you can not get the files.6. Re enter all of the subscription info a second time at their request incase you miss typed something the first time.7. Get an email with links to the program shortcuts and to the 3 ea, skp. files and 3 ea, layout files.8. Click you do not want to make an account with DropBox.9. Download the shortcuts2015.pdf file.10. Click on download link to get the skp and layout files.11. Click you do not want to make an account with DropBox.12. Click on the first 6 downloads.13. I am 43% into the book and it keeps telling me to open the included files which are not included.Where are the included files? Wenn man SketchUp erlernen möchte ist man meistens mit den zahlreichen online Erklärungs-Videos betreffend dem kreativen Design Prozesses sehr gut bedient. Ich habe bislang auch nicht ein gutes Buch als Nachschlagewerk gefunden.Mit dem „Layout“ Programm verhält es sich jedoch etwas anders. Die online Videos sind eher beschränkt und da man die Layout Funktion nicht so oft braucht wie die Designfunktion, ist ein Nachlagewerk umso dienlicher.Das „SketchUp to Layout“ von Matt Donley erfüllt für mich dieses Bedürfnis. Gut strukturiert führt es einem durch den Prozess aus den 3D Modellen Pläne für Handwerker, Architekten … u.s.w zu erstellen. Dabei bietet es viele gute Tips den Prozess zu vereinfache und zu strukturieren.Das Buch ist in einem einfachen und verständlichen Englisch geschrieben. Pratico e piuttosto chiaro. A volte un po' troppo sintetico, per lo meno per chi non mastica bene l'inglese.

People learn sketchup but many don't learn about Layout.This book is clearly written, it's well organised - explains the theory and then uses that with three examples.The sample files can be downloaded from the books website. I've contacted the author, Matt, several times recently regarding his new book. I've found him to be very helpful - you can't expect an immediate response from someone so busy but he will get back to you.I took a punt to get this book and so glad that I did. I'm sure that I will reference it in the near future, when I get the time to start using sketchup more for my businessIn particular this specifically helps with sketchup explains how to correctly use groups (including nested groups), components, layers (for groups and nested groups), scenes and stylesps when I say Sketchup - I mean Sketchup & Layout
