The best pull-up bar for my money!
I researched a TON of these door frame-mounted pull up bars and finally pulled the trigger on this one. It just arrived today and I wanted to let anyone else looking for a good pull up bar what my opinion is about this one. I always read reviews, so I appreciate it when someone takes the time to share their experience with the Amazon community so we can all be better educated about what we are buying. That said, this will not be a review of how the item holds up... not yet anyway. I'll update this review later, once I've had a chance to really use this thing for a while. But, for now I wanted to let you know that it came in just two days using Amazon Prime (Amazon Prime is so worth the cost), and it came very well packaged... each piece was individually protected in foam + cardboard rolled tubes + in separate plastic bags. Each piece was perfect when I opened the box. All parts were present and the instructions were very clear on how to assemble the pull up bar. You don't need any tools of your own as it comes with a basic screwdriver/wrench combo. I used my own screwdriver and socket wrench, but be very careful if you do the same so you don't crank down so tight on the bolts that you compress or collapse the steel tubing. It just needs to be tight. The bolts all have a standard flat washer as well as a spring washer, which if you don't already know, is basically a thinner washer that has been split at one point and the two ends bent slightly apart. It's the bent part of this washer that gives it it's same because it is meant to be "springy" and lock the nut in place once the nut is tightened, so it doesn't come undone. Common sense prevails here... check the bolts from time to time (maybe once a week would be good) to make sure all bolts remain tight. That said, this pull up bar is very well made. One of the best features, in my humble opinion anyway, are the flat plates with the foam pads that press against the door's side trim. No other bar I found has these. The Yes4All Deluxe Chin-Up Bar was a close second and had something similar, but I don't think their support plates were as large or made out of steel like this one. This is by far this is a much better way to support the unit (in addition to the cross-piece that hangs on the top trim on the opposite side of the door) - as opposed to all those pull up bars that just have a foam wrapped steel bar pressing against the door side trim instead. A flat plate will have far less chance of damaging my door trim that a 1.5" diameter bar with a layer of foam on it. I expect that, over time, the foam on the plates on this one will get worn, but that's to be expected and it should be easy enough to find replacement foam pads with an adhesive side to replace them (even if I have to cut them to size from a larger piece).Overall, I'm very pleased with this pull up bar as well as the shipping time and the packaging. By the way, at least one reviewer complained about fingerprints on the white surfaces... this comes from your own fingers because the nuts, bolts and washers are all lightly coated with a light oil to protect them from rusting. This is NOT a bad thing... unless you happen to like rust on your fitness equipment. So, when it's all assembled (BTW,wait until ALL bolts are hand-tightened before you give them all a FINAL wrench-tightening) just wipe off any finger prints with a soft cloth. I only had a few fingerprints, so it was no big deal. From time to time, I may even apply some light oil to the nuts and bolts if I see them start to rust.Highly recommended... give it a try if you are looking for a strong, well-designed and well-made one.

Strong, excessively heavy pullup bar, arguably a worse design than the original Multi-Gym
Purchased this pullup bar about 3months ago to replace the non-Pro version of the same unit Perfect Fitness Perfect Multi Gym ( 31010 ) so I can directly compare the two. These Perfect Fitness products are well made, and by well made, I mean they are REALLY HEAVY and feel more secure than the standard iron-gym which I have also owned.Perfect Fitness Multi-gym Non-Pro:My first perfect fitness (non-pro) was great- it fit in the door well, didn't scratch anything up and was quite even when put together (angle of pull up handles was horizontal to floor). In my experience these items can sometimes be kindof crooked when you put them together, even if you fiddle with them. The grips on my original perfect fitness multi-gym (non-pro) tore and ripped within 2 months or so- but to me this is standard for these things and you can just tape them up yourself or repair them. The pull up handles stuck out far from the door frame were ample and great for pullups and ab work, and the wide grips against the door were comfortable, although a bit awkward to use as your arms will touch the door frame as you pull up. while having the extra wide grips is a good idea in theory- they need to be further from the door frame to really be useful, not integrated into the against door pad. One day I accidentally dropped this unit and although the metal portions of the thing are very durable, it landed on one of its ends (one of the against door pad ends) and the plastic bushing pieces that hold the door pad/grip assembly together shattered instantly making the thing useless and I didn't trust repairing with glue. Enter Multi-Gym Pro..Perfect Fitness Multi-gym Pro:Bought this unit when my non-pro broke. I went for this unit because the wide grips are farther from the wall which was a complaint about the other one. Unfortunately the redesign has trade offs. There are more pieces to this version and its probably twice as heavy (as you'll see many people saying). No matter how I put this thing together the bar is slightly crooked in the doorframe, could be a manufacturing error, but the point is you need to be careful putting this together to get everything even. Beyond the assembly issues, the middle pull up grips are much much smaller than on the other iron gym, and as someone with large hands, when I use them I touch the metal on either side of the grip. There really just aren't ample grip spaces on the central grips. The wide grips are fine, but I find this design to be kindof stupid, with the bulk of the outer loops getting in the way of the central grips. To me this version is over-engineered and I prefer the original perfect fitness. It is also so heavy that if your doorframe and molding aren't very hefty I might be nervous about using this and beyond that, if you plan to take it off and put it back on a lot you might get annoyed with its weight. Another consideration- if you leave this thing on a door without the metal piece that secures its top backing to the door frame and then forget and shut that door reflexively it can fall and because it is heavy, might hurt you, do damage to the floor, or like with my first perfect fitness, its weaker plastic components could break on impact. If you buy this be careful to use that metal piece on your primary door to avoid these risks.Verdict: Overly engineered and heavy, middle grips are small not very accessible and bulky tubular design that accommodates the wide grips, tube loops can get in the way of top of pullup using the middle perpendicular grips. May break if dropped. I would purchase the original Perfect Fitness over this pro version.

Muy bien material
La barra es fácil de armar, además de que queda muy firme ya que el material es muy bueno, las agarraderas están perfectamente distribuidas. El único punto algo malo es que el material que protege la pared no es tan grueso así que en pocos meses ya está completamente plano.

Perfect aside from some padding and fasteners
Great Pull-up bar that comes very very close to being 5 stars. I've owned several pull-up bars and would recommend this manufacturer. The rating is at 4 stars as I would like there to be padding at the 2 locations between the 'U' pieces. I am rather tall and have a wider shoulder width, so my hands should be placed a little bit past the inner side of the 'U' pieces. Additionally, as part of the installation you are required to place a carriage bolt and nuts to secure the piece resting on the top of the door (black bar with two long pads and the words 'perfect fitness' on it) to the 'L' shaped pieces. The seating for the carriage bolt is in the black bar piece and the seat is plastic, which means when you tighten down the nuts, the head of the carriage bolt can strip the plastic a bit, making it somewhat awkward to tighten and make the connection not as strong as it should be.Aside from the negatives, I can really appreciate the neutral grip on this pullup bar. The padding that is on the bar is dense enough that your hand won't hurt when gripping the bar, even if you need to squeeze it with full force to complete the last rep. The front 2 pads touching the door frame are very thick, and white so that they won't leave any mark on your door frame. I've had this bar for about 3 months and can't tell that the pullup bar was even used there. The product also makes for rather decent pushup stands. Just remember that it is a pullup bar and is very wide so it can be difficult to use this and fit it inside a bedroom but otherwise if you give yourself enough room this can work for your pushup needs. If you are debating between this and the non-pro model, there are a few differences. The pro has a 300 pound weight limit vs the non-pro's 220, both are good enough for most people but not all of course. The main difference is the grips you can do. I like the pro as it gives you the option of doing neutral grip pullups/chinups, however for your regular grip pullups and chinups the non-pro can give you a wider or narrower grip, which is something I miss from the non-pro as mentioned above. At the time I purchased this model (the Multi-Gym Pro) both products were priced very similarly, but I do like the Pro more.
