A good blade for Shaving.
Works well in my 1912 GEM shaving razor. Gives a very close and smooth shave.

Best tool ever for splitting small/oblong pills; ultra sharp blade
Although these are made for shaving, I got them for splitting small pills into portions. While pill splitters are fine for larger pills overall, and workable for small pills, they don't do a good job when you need to split a pill into quarters regardless of the pill size. They are especially poor when trying to split small or oblong pills into quarters since the blade is so thick. These are much thinner and MUCH sharper. They go through pills effortlessly with zero crushing. They are single sided and have a bent metal "cap" on the other side so they can be used by hand. You do need to be ultra careful, however, since the blade edge is so sharp. They also fit into scraping tools and do an excellent job of paint scraping with far less effort needed than with conventional scraper blades. The 10 blades come in a plastic holder that keeps them safe, and also allows you to safely store used blades for disposal. Excellent value for the price.

Sharp and Good
I like old razors and these fit nicely into the single edge "lather catchers" made by Gem and Ever Ready. The blades are sharp and consistent offering a good shave. The Gems may look the same but are a vastly different quality to ones sold at the hardware store.

It is stainless steel.
There is not much variety for this type of single edge razors. They are two brands of SE blades "readily" available: GEMs and Treets, which are both made by the same company (American Safety Razor). In fact, the blade vaults the blades come in are identical. GEMs will say "GEM" on reinforced spine of the non-cutting edge, while Treets have a number. I labeled them just in case.I have only been using safety razors for about a year as of this review. Most of my experience is DE style razors. The shaving methods are similar, but I done many more shaves with DE than SE razors. Also note, I have pretty coarse hair and sensitive skin.I can get really good shaves with these blades, once I get use to the style of the razor. The GEM Mircomatics are aggressive razors for my technique, so I get some irritation. Because this style of SE blades are rigid compared to DE blades and these GEMs are very sharp, I have noticed, from my experience, these blades easily knock down a few days grow of stubble.Compared to Treet Blades, I have not notice any difference in performance. I want to say Treet is a little sharper. Yet, as some shavers may know Treet is carbon steel, while GEMs are stainless steel. I can only use Treet's 2-3 times not because they dull, but because the rust concerns me. I dry the Treets after use, but I there is darkening from oxidation where water gets trapped in the mircomatic during first shave. I shave 5-6 times a week and the GEM blades will last the whole week. They probably could last longer, but at the cost of the blades I will try not to push my luck.

Best for shaving
I use a 1906 Ever Ready Razor to shave with, because with these blades it's the best Razor I've ever used. These blades are shave sharp and stainless steel. For paint scraping, buy cheaper blades these are designed for shaving in old time razors!
