"Brushed Nickel" finish is nothing more than a thin plastic coating
I bought three of the "brushed nickel" pumps a little over three months ago. All three have had fairly equal use since then. One of them is permanently stuck in the down position. On all three of them, the "brushed nickel" finish has started to wear off, revealing itself to be nothing more than s micro-thin matte plastic coating over a shiny chrome finish. That seems like a really weird way to go about getting a brushed nickel look - take a perfectly good, mirror-like chrome finish and spray a layer of dull-looking plastic all over it... but that's exactly what they did. With enough rubbing, I could probably get all of the plastic coating off to reveal the full chrome finish, but I expect that's simply another extremely thin coating over the top of something else. Maybe if I rub hard enough, I'll reveal gold!! Or maybe I'll just chuck them all in the garbage and try something else.

Use distilled water to dilute the soap.
Using (hard) tap water to dilute the soap results in soap scum (or insoluble lime) when the calcium and magnesium in the hard water reacts with the soap. This results in cloudy soapwater in the reservoir and eventual clogging of the pump. Also a precipitate collects on the bottom of the reservoir. This, of course, is sucked up into the pump and causes clogging. I've used one of these more than five years and it has slowly gotten so clogged that the pump does not work. Realizing this, I will from now on use distilled water to dilute the soap. The resulting diluted soap is crystal clear and will not clog the pump. I give it a rating of five, realizing its limited life span (about 5 years) is my fault for using hard water.

Not worth it. But Method instead.
Worked for about 2 weeks and then stopped working well. The spring/pump mechanism prevents the pump from being able to be pumped and the pump stays in the DOWN position making it so I have to lift the pump up to then push it down again. I purchased this item TWICE and both times the same thing happened. I have followed ALL of the instructions and dilute my liquid soap (Sal Suds or Dr. Bronner's Castille liquid soap). 10-to-1 if not perhaps a bit more, and even with ALL of the dilution, the pump mechanism still sticks. I guess I will have to go back to buying METHOD FOAMING PUMP with soap in it and then dumping out the soap and refilling it with the kinds of soap I prefer. It is a waste of soap, but at least the METHOD BRAND foaming pumps never break and perform like new for YEARS! The cost for METHOD foaming soap dispenser is CHEAPER and it comes WITH SOAP. If only I could find a way to buy the Method container without the Method soap!!!

Nice product. Hard
Nice product. Hard, sturdy plastic, good pump action, so far anyway. I fill it to within an inch from the top, so that means 2 oz of liquid soap and 10 oz of H2O (per the recommended 1 part soap to 5 parts water mix). That leaves about an inch at the top. My only complaint is: how hard would it have been to engrave two lines on the bottle - one for soap level and one for water? Seems like such an easy and helpful thing to have done. I also bought Cuisipro 83758000 13.2-Ounce Foam Pump, Chrome from a local retailer (same price as AMZ plus I got a 20% discount - guess what retailer) and I like the InterDesign much better. The tilted shape of the Cuisipro makes it unstable and the suction cup doesn't help much. All in all, happy with this product, except for the omission of the fill lines on the bottle. By the way, I use with Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Liquid Hand Soap, Lemon Verbena, 12.5 Fluid Ounce (Pack of 3) ".UPDATE 3/17/16 - I wouldn't buy this again. The plunger sticks after a couple months. I rinse it out and it's fine for a few days but then it's sticking/sluggish again. Not a good product and definitely not worth the price I paid.

Looks good and works well - at first
Update, June 2015:I loved this pump so much that I got a second one. Sadly, it has proven within 6 months to not be good quality. Both pumps stick most of the time now, so we have to pull the pump up and push it back down. Even that doesn't usually work the first time, and we have to repeat several times to get any soap. The finish that makes the silver (plastic) part look like brushed nickel has worn off almost completely, so it's shiny now. And the liquid has collected above the spring in the pump mechanism, and it's now yellowish and nasty-looking inside. I'm very disappointed that this $10 pump has lasted less time than a cheap, pre-filled one from even Dollar Tree! This foaming pump is working very well. The brushed-nickel look of the top matches my bathroom nicely and looks good. The pump works smoothly and makes a good foam. The only thing I don't love is the plain look, but I wasn't able to find anything better.

Works well but wobbles
This dispenser wobbles. I admit I might just have gotten a defective one. I have the other InterDesign foaming dispenser (the one that is more narrow at the top and larger at the bottom) and it doesn't rock at all. I question quality though, because while my other dispenser doesn't rock it does constantly have condensation in the bottle. That being said, they both despense the soap nicely and just one pump is a good amount. The pumps glide smoothly and never sticks like some other dispensers. It holds a large amount of soap so even with constant hand washing you don't need to refill often. The plastic faux metal is convincing. You only know it's not real metal until you touch it.

pump gets stuck AND stained
The pump developed stains after 1 week and the pump would get stuck after you pressed it so that constantly i was having to pull the pump out. Not a great product - would never buy again and definitely not recommend it to anyone.I struggled through 3 months of using this thing before i just couldn't take it anymore and chucked it. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Disappointed
Hasn't worked from day one. It just foams up in the bottle but nothing comes out of the pump - very disappointed:(
