When Light Yagami finds a notebook giving him power over death, will he use it for goodโor evil? Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects--and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note , a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal...or his life? With Near openly suspecting the new L of being Kira and sowing doubt in the hearts of the task force members, Light is once again forced to pass the Death Note on to another to take the heat off himself. But this time, Kira chooses a disciple from among his true believers. With no way to contact his successor directly, Light must rely on his faithful follower's adherence to Kira's goals. Will this newest move bring Light's ideal world closer to reality? Or will losing control of the Death Note spell Light's doom? Review: love death note - best series ever! Review: ) It's extremely twisted with an amazing plot, & characters - A must read, especially if you've already watched the anime. (Like most.) It's extremely twisted with an amazing plot, & characters. There's much left out that's important to the plot & development that was not in the anime. I definitely highly recommend this series.

If the person using this Note fails to consecutively write names of people to be killed within 13 days of each other, then the user will die

Another Kira arises
With Near closing in on the truth about him, Light decides that is time for a new person to take up the mantel of Kira. Near, meanwhile, manages to cause even more problems for Light as he spreads dissent within the Kira Taskforce. Although Death Note has taking a slight dip in quality in the recent volumes, this tenth volume of the manga is still better than the average volume of many other manga series. This volume keeps up with the plot twists and the scripting of the series is as great as ever. As well as this the artwork remains top notch and the series continues to be a greatly compulsive read.
