I love these boxes. So much so that I actually purchased one for work as well. They are decently sturdy for being so lightweight. The only issues I have found with the one at work is that the first and last files stick because of the gap between the edge of the box and the end of the metal rail. This is easily avoidable though! I put a few of those black metal clips in the corner and BAM... no more stuck files since the gap is covered!

It's not the highest quality, but gets the job done. I wanted something small to put files in and this serves that purpose well. It looks nice and holds everything I need, but my one issue is that the box isn't very sturdy so when I go to slide it off of the shelf it tries to pull apart rather than come towards you. The weight of the files is almost too much for the box to handle. Easy fix for me - I just put it on a shelf that enables me to look inside of the box without pulling it out. If you plan to move your files a lot it may not be the file holder for you.

This is a great find. Here are some highlights: 1. Large capacity. Holds way more than a “bankers box” 2. Wide enough to just slip in the hanging files—-lots of them. No brackets required. 3. Set-up is a matter of minutes. Just snap the buttons closed. 2 buttons on each corner. 4. The top fits easily over the top with hanging folders in place. 5. Couple of notes: a)The top is lose. I put the top on and then use a strap around the body if I take it out of the office to a car. I considered it a small price to pay for great capacity, ease of setup and fit for hanging files. If your travel requires more protection for your files, this would not be for you.

As the title of this review implies, this product serves its purported function; it can hold papers, files and the like. That aside, there are two things I don't like about the product: 1. The lid doesn't fit. Not only does it not fit snugly on the rest of the box, there is an inch or so of space; it actually slides. All will be well if you don't move the box often and there isn't a chance it might fall or get turned over a bit; the lid will fall right off and whatever is inside will soon follow. 2. The box is not flimsy but it isn't particularly sturdy either. The snap-on design is clever but ultimately not as good as many other designs out there. Again, while it definitely serves its purpose, I am not particularly impressed by this product and am unlikely to buy one again in the future.

I purchased three of these file holders and I thought that I had finally found the solution to a messy car. I am an independent, manufactures representative. I have 10+ active lines that I market every work day. I bought these to give some organization to sales literature and sell sheets in the back of my Subaru Tribecca. I carefully put them together, filled them with files and literature. By simply touching the box front all 6-snaps disengage and the box falls apart. I have the files placed on the letter side and that was a disaster. I turned and put the files on the legal side and still the whole box nearly falls apart when to look at it. I double reinforced the snaps with tape and even attempted to super-glue them together...NOTHING WORKS! I thought $10 was a good price for a great solution, instead I just wasted $30 because I bought three of them.

Received this box yesterday, quickly and easily put it together -- no trouble at all in lining up the snaps, and connecting them. Very sturdy and attractive looking. Solid! I expected that the top might have to be assembled, by folding or something, but it comes finished, with metal corners and rivets to hold in place. The cardboard is good thickness, firm, and finished to a shine. I really don't like filing, and my desk file drawer and 4-drawer filing cabinet, and various other plastic file boxes are all full, so paper tends to accumulate in piles, and then I can't find things easily. So, I got the idea of putting most things I wanted to keep, other than really special things, in a pile by month -- just throw them in flat, and put dividers between, or put in a file folder at the end of the month. The box top works really well for this -- it sits on top of the box, with the open side up, and I can just toss papers into it until I'm ready to stack them in the box below. I already nearly filled the box, though, with stuffed folders from my desk drawer, so now the special things can go there more easily. So, I will probably buy more of these boxes, or maybe just transfer to storage boxes, but I like the labels, handles and nice appearance of this box, so probably will buy more. BTW, I knew a guy years ago, whose system was to pile things up in the corner, and when the pile got high enough, he would take the bottom foot or so and throw it away -- he figured that if something hadn't moved to the top of the stack in time, then it probably wasn't important. ;) Maybe my ultimate solution.

I've had this for several years now and the only reason it hasn't completely fallen apart is because I am extremely gentle whenever I move it. The snaps constantly pop open, the seams are basically just paper, and the base isn't weight bearing. Oh and the lid isn't the right size — it's way too big. It just rests on top of the folder labels and hangs over the sides. It's a cheap alternative to a filing cabinet but if you have the means, I suggest buying something more sturdy.

For the price this worked great. Easy to snap together or fold up, and metal covers over the tops for the hanging folders to slide. As others have noted, the weaknesses are: 1. The lid will rest on the top of your file tabs and bend them. So it is not good for stacking storage of files, but good as a single portable file drawer. 2. Legal hanging folders can't use the entire box space because they the slides collide with the folded corners. But standard A4 files can use the full box without problems.

buena callidad, sin embargo no las recomiendo para cosas muy pesadas. o para llenarlas al 100 o si se considera estarlas transportando o moviendo mucho.

Fits everything I need it to! Only downside is that the snaps come apart occasionally but I do have A LOT of paper in it.

Keep it in mind, the lid dimensions are 13.25x16.25. Might be a tight squeeze for some shelves.
