Wedding Crashers [Blu-ray]

A fantastic squeakuel that even Pat Mac can enjoy
We're just two brothers attending this wedding, and NOT two wedding crashers. To prove it, let me recite a saying from the home country, "truth speaks even though the tongue were dead." We're Sean and Don O'Gonigal—Rudy's boys. This film is dear to our hearts. We don't get to experience an event like this very often at the Okinawa Eating Club, where we're stationed. And we definitely don't experience events like this very often, because we're NOT wedding crashers who crash weddings every weekend. What else is there left to say about Owen and Vince that hasn't already been said? They were at Princeton together but didn't meet during their studies, however, something funny happened on the way to the future. I haven't seen performances this spectacular since my ballet company was IN one, executing a perfect Pas De Deux in front of the Okinawa Spy Battalion in a scintillating rendition of Swan Lake. Many in our battalion thought we were too big to play such delicate roles, but we said to them, "Size matters, but in the spy world, it's reversed." In conclusion, it's a great movie it still holds up. Jack Shepherd and friend. P.S. - We loved this one.

enjoyable fun
it's nice to watch a comedy made in the old style. Perhaps a bit formulaic, but that's not necessarily bad, especially when it's well written and played by quality actors. It's the kind of movie I used to enjoy seeing in a theater. Most comedies nowadays are not worth spending the money. So, I think if you're over 30 you'll likely enjoy it and find it funny.

The wedding crashers meet their match in 2 sisters
Wedding Crashers is a funny romantic comedy as Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson spend their free time crashing weddings so they can pick up on women. They find their match in Isla Fisher and Rachel McAdams. Vaughn and Wilson have great chemistry and play off each other. It looks like they had a great time making the movie. Out of the women Fisher steals the show as a nymphomaniac nut. Bradley Cooper plays a jerk and there’s a hilarious cameo by Will Ferrell who crashes funerals and yells at his mother. The movie played on the little things as well like during a wedding a man gives a speech and keeps rubbing the hair of the groom. Another time Fisher and McAdam’s grandmother starts going off about how Eleanor Roosevelt was a lesbian.

The return of the great R-rated comedy!
Yes, consider me shallow and superficial, but every once in a while, I like to laugh during a movie while a breast is flashed or a curse word is uttered. In recent years, with the PG-13-ification of film comedies, we haven't had a decent, smart, fun R-rated laugh riot.I take that back...wasn't "There's Something About Mary" R-rated?Anyways, "Wedding Crashers" is a giddy, giggling comedy about two buds who crash weddings with enthusiasm and aplomb. By their own admission, "wedding season" is better than Christmas. The opening montage sets the stage, as they crash five weddings of varying religious denominations. Right off the bat, you get the sense that they do this not just for the free food and the strategically beneficial female-to-male ratios, but because they genuinely love being there, meeting new people and in some over-arching sense, being part of the entertainment.Whether it's dancing with the flower girl, offering toasts in the native language, or making balloon animals for the kids (all of which can be found in the "Rules of Wedding Crashing"), you get a sense that they almost earn their free admission. As events lead to the big wedding-to-be-crashed, you can see for miles ahead where this film is going. You can in most comedies. But the way this film gets there is constantly surprising and entertaining. And funny. Funny funny funny.Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn make a terrific combo. They take their caricatured personas and humanize them. Wilson, the de facto romantic lead, has never been more appealing, with his laconic delivery and winning smile. Vaughn is the perfect counterpoint, with his hysterical verbal diarrhea being the source of countless classic lines. It's not that he can't stop talking...you don't want him to. And you get the feeling that the characters responding to him in the film don't want him to either.Rachel McAdams, last year's It girl, radiates intelligence as well as a totally approachable beauty.Christopher Walken does Christopher Walken and it works. You imagine people going behind his back, saying "Doesn't the Treasury Secretary remind you of Christopher Walken?"Jane Seymour has few moments, and tries to make the most of them. There will be one scene that most everyone will remember, and deservedly so. She plays with our preconceptions of "Jane Seymour" and she uses it to be funny.Bradley Cooper erases his "Alias" image as a supreme bastard. The poorly kept secret cameo near the end of the film was a hoot. But for me, the dizzying delight of the film was the outright lunacy of Isla Fisher, playing the "level 5 virgin clinger" Gloria. Every scene she's in, she gives off manic fireworks. There's the dinner table scene where she's...well...she's "playing" with Vince Vaughn. If you tear your eyes away from Vaughn's uproarious mugging, you'll see a crazed nymphet clearly teetering on the edge of psychosis. Gleefully so.The technical details of the film and the DVD are all fine. The supplements are enough to whet your appetite after the film, and by all means, sample some of the audio commentary by Vaughn and Wilson. As I understand it, the Unrated version offers a few more breasts, and some extension of "goth" brother's scenes."Wedding Crashers" is a great way to laugh for two hours!

Funny
I'm a fan of the classic college...ish type of fun romp movies. The Animal House Caddy Shack types. The Wedding Crashers definitely fit in but on a little higher level. Just like another was The Change Up

J'adore ce film. Vince et Owen sont super marrants et très osés dans ce film. A voir absolument et sans attendre. :)

Hilarious Wedding Crashers
This is not a bad movie for 2005. It is heartwarming and funny with some crude humour at the same time. Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson make a terrific comedy duo in trying to find love, listening to one’s heart and being there for a friend. Special Features are also great.

Overrated
Having read all the reviews before buying it, I wondered if I’d got the right movie. After 30 mins, I’d have gladly ejected it and thrown it in the bin, but soldiered on to the bitter end. A dull, predictable storyline with a seriously cheesy finale - what more can I say? I must live on another planet because I really cant see why so many people love it, but there we are; each to his own as they say.

One of my all time favourite comedies
Very decent transfer to Blu-ray so no worries there. A comedy that perhaps is an acquired taste but gets better each time for me.This edition comes with the original and new “uncorked” edition that includes interspersed deleted scenes edited into the movie seamlessly. Personally, I didn’t find the uncorked edition funnier; actually I felt it unnecessarily delayed the story and just goes to show how much good editing can affect a film. Students of film take note here.Cast are exceptional and chemistry between them is natural and unforced. Wilson and Vaughan are excellent together but Isla Fisher steals the show as ‘stage five clinger’ Gloria. The supporting cast all have individual moments where they shine and have memorable scenes e.g. Jane Seymour’s ‘kitty kat’ scene is hilarious; Christopher Walken’s scene where Jeremy (Vaughan) is tied to bed is another stand out scene of hilarity; and Will Ferrell’s Chaz, the crasher king, is one of his funniest characterisations.Be aware that there are some risqué scenes that leave nothing to the imagination. What I found remarkable about this movie however is that these scenes actually help the plot and develop the story and characters. Perhaps this is why I stated it’s a film that might be considered an acquired taste. Today, it’s one of my favourite comedies and I enjoy and look forward to my favourite scenes. Like a good wine, it’s gotten better with age...

Crying-with-laughter funny
This has become one of my all-time favourite comedies. I originally saw it at the cinema after the movie I originally wanted to see was sold out. But disappointment quickly turned to glee at this unexpectedly hilarious offering from members of the "Frat Pack". Many times in the cinema hall, I was literally crying with laughter and my belly ached. Similar reactions from the rest of the audience are enough to show that the few who commented negatively on this movie are in the minority.Vince Vaughan's funny man bounces well off Owen Wilson's charming straight man. The wedding crasher concept is itself original and gets the duo into new and interesting situations. Add to this, a number of wierd and funny characters with which they interact and you have a recipe for side-splitting laughter. The little bit of nudity in it is unnecessary and could have been left out. I don't know why movie-makers insist on including it as leaving it out could have appealed to a wider audience.I bought this movie on DVD and watch it from time from time when I need a good laugh. The comedy is silly, slap-stick, and juvenile but also very clever. Add to this the romantic stories in the background and you have a great feel-good movie which should be sold with a money-back guarantee.Don't miss it!
