Made like a tank. Easy to assemble. worth every penny and more
By the photo you really can't tell what an industrial strength system this is. Assembly is easy by starting out at the bottom. You slide in the four feet , put on the two center plastic things on the bottom, bolt on the end pieces at the bottom, bolt on the black sides at the bottom, point up to a point and bolt on the top piece. It even came with a little bottle of silver touch-up paint. Required using a 17mm ratchet/socket and a 17 mm box wrench for the nut and bolts. The spacing is for normal 5" metal handle dumbbells not little all plastic toy ones. I used the Reebok hex dumbbells I bought on AMAZON and they all fit nicely. Note that the size of the unit is about 27 long x 17 wide x 44 inches high. Note that if your floor is not level it can wobble/rock until you level it with some shims (such as the white plastic toilet bowl plastic levelers or wood door shims or a pieces of rug etc). This is NOT the fault of the unit but the floor. You can of course try different locations on your floor. I think it is impossible to have this fall over, if so, you need to move as your floor had to be really screwed up.There is plenty of room to grab a dumbbell. The virtue of this thing is that the dumbbells are easily accessible. Piling them all on the floor actually takes just a little more space the the bottom of the unit so you do not save space. This is just convenient, safe and fast access. Most would not put this is a living area as it is very weight-room looking. I am VERY impressed with this unit. MUCH BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED.

Hits the middle ground nicely.
I write "Hits the middle ground nicely." because if one considers the price of gas and you have Amazon Prime, you'll get this item delivered in two days for a very reasonable price. This unit is easy to assemble and fits many different style dumbbell handle shapes. Takes about ten minuets to assemble and five more minutes to crank all the nuts-n-bolts down tight. A nice manufacture's touch, the crown of the unit it topped with a ribbed rubber pad and the unit packing included two small bottles of touch-up paint. On the part of Body Solid, that's class. We have a typical random assortment of dumbbells and dumbbell handles which were collected over many years needing to be organized. My worry when viewing this unit online, will the different style handles fit or will it only accept matching hex style dumbbells manufactured by Body Solid? The good news, you won't be taking a flyer as all our different dumbbell handles fit this rack perfectly; round head/chrome, metal hex head, rubber hex head, padded and unpadded dumbbell handles which have threaded bar collars to hold accompanying plates in place. You know, a good old fashion random selection of dumbbell handles. Between my wife, son and I, we have six different handle styles. My experience, this rack will fit all-comers and can "easily" handle the heaviest of dumbbells. Well, heaviest to me. I see no problem with the bottom pair of hooks holding a set of hundred pound dumbbells and going up from there with incrementally lighter dumbbells. As an older guy, I'm long and away from the days of heavy weights but for those who are able, this rack can "easily" organize and handle many, if not all of the heaviest dumbbell sets.Hope the above helps.

Spacing is small between slots, so not good for large diameter dumb bells
The spacing between each slot is quite small, so only relatively small diameter weights can stored on this rack. I was planning to use this for Ivanko dumb bells with 5 and 7.5 pound plates, but these plates are too large. So I basically need to use every other slot. So this rack that is suppose to hold 6 pairs of dumb bells, I can only use it for 3 pairs. If you are using small dumb bells, such as less than 20 pounds, then you might be able to use all 6 pairs of slots.

Sturdy Design, Well Made Rack
I have no basis for comparison with other racks because this is the only one I've ever purchased, but so far I am very impressed. It arrived promptly and was delivered in a compact box that made movement easy. The box weighed about 38 pounds and I was able to set it up in the same room as the workout equipment because it did not require extensive space to assemble. The first reason it only gets 4 stars is because documentation is next to non-existent. You basically have schematic showing where things go and since I'm mechanically inclined that was not a problem. But if you are the type who needs written instructions in place of pictures, this might be somewhat difficult. That said, all the pieces only fit one way so it would be difficult to put it together improperly. In addition to the documentation not giving steps, the size of socket you need is not given anywhere. Small detail, for sure, but I'm lucky enough to have a large socket set and did have the right size. If someone was trying to put this together with adjustable wrenches only, it would be cumbersome. The second reason it only got 4 stars, and this might just be personal peeve, is in the assembly itself. The design has 4 bolts that attach at the base, and 4 bolts that attach at the top. Getting the 4 on top to line up perfectly parallel with the 4 on bottom is nearly impossible, and there was always a little bit of wobble when tightened. This proved to be a moot point after placing the weights (140 pounds total with 2 each of 10, 15, 20, and 25) it settled nicely with a good solid base. Perhaps it's part of the design to be slightly tweaked while empty but settle on itself with weight.I really like that it has expansion room because there are slots for 6 pairs and I only have the 4 pairs. I also like that my big ands can grasp the weights comfortably to remove them from the slots. This is a good purchase for anyone wanted to clean up their dumbbells. I would recommend it to anyone else.
