I loved this prep book. I felt good about the test but this helped to give me extra tips for information I forgot about. The writing portion especially gave me lots of good tips that I applied. I’ve taken 2/3 of the tests and used tips from this book for both! Highly Recommend !!

The book is useful and definitely helped prepare me for my CBEST. ***Be aware that the state of California is offering to cover all 3 sections of the CBEST and will waive the cost of each section of the test (Reading, Writing & Math). If you find yourself needing to take the exam, please look into it to save money. ALSO, if you have taken certain Math, Reading or Writing classes, you may not need to take the exam or certain sections of the exam. :)

I have a B.A. degree in a non liberal arts major and am pursuing my teaching credential. The first step is to pass the CBEST. Since I graduated over 10years ago, I wanted a good review book. This is a decently good book for that. The first half of it just tells you HOW to take a test. The practices are pretty good, but pretty common sense if you've gotten a degree from a university. The second portion covers good content in all the areas. I passed all of the tests first time and this book for sure helped. I would recommend for someone who needs to brush up on stuff from H.S. The practice tests help you gauge the time you need to prepare for the actual test.p.s. I'm HORRIBLE at math and this prepared me very well.

I bought this book along with CliffsNotes around 2 weeks before my exam. I had never given CBEST before. For reading, and writing: I only did Princeton. Solved all 4 practice tests, and CTC site test. For Math's, I read the concepts both from Princeton, and CliffsNotes. I solved only 4 practice tests from Princeton, apart from ctc site tests. I passed my math with score: 59, passed reading section as well. Must buy.

I’m only giving two stars because the actual test is nothing like the practice test in the book. The actual test has harder questions which you have to really decipher. The boom is great with going over the basics to help you remember how to work out problems. Don’t be like me and expect the actual test to be similar to this book because it will not be. I did all three practice test and passes them all & I still had to take the test 2 times to pass.

I was much excited to receive the parcel as i have waited for it for weeks, but was shocked to find out that the cover is damaged, disappointed!
