The dial is fairly easy to read-- I'll shine a 365nm UV light at it to see it better if I need to, and it's nice knowing when food is approaching the safe zone. It's saved me from undercooking things quite a bit, and occasionally I'll see that it's close to overcooking long before the oven timer goes off, so I can adjust the oven temperature or even turn it off completely so it doesn't overshoot the safe zone by too far, leading to burning or just excessively-dry meat. So far it appears to be waterproof; I often just wash it using the top rack of the dishwasher and have not seen evidence of water intrusion.

I really like this tool for when I’m frying chicken. It’s not instant - it takes a few moments to measure and settle - but I do find it to be fairly accurate, durable, and easy to clean.

This item showed up and it was about 2-3x the size of any other thermometer that I'd had before. It works great and the text color is such that it lights up and is easy to read in low light and high lights. Highly recommend, especially for the price.

Meat thermometer designed to be placed in meat and left there during baking. Many thermometers are designed to NOT be in the oven all the time, this one is designed to be baked along with the roast or steak. It reads from near the tip of the probe so it cannot be used to show oven temps. I do not know if this is dishwasher safe, I suspect it is not dishwasher safe but I could be wrong. I wash it by hand, quick and easy. So far its been reliable and easy to read through the oven door window with a flashlight.

It was very slow to get to the temperature but I put it down to the type of thermometer. Within two weeks, however, it just stopped working. Needle wouldn't even move. I borrowed a neighbor's and it register done at the correct temp, so I had a definitely had a worthless thermometer.

Low cost accurate thermometer with a large dial that can be viewed through the oven door glass. thermometer works as intended at a low cost to insure correctly cooked oven dishes. No need to open the oven door until it's time, so you can get professional results. I recommend.

I used it for a turkey. I am happy with it. It's easy to use, easy to read, waterproof, and dishwasher safe. My previous one wasn't waterproof. I had to replace it, as I washed it. So far it's great. The suggested temp settings are different than my previous one. I have to research meat temps for health safety. The temperatures can be adjusted with the sliding needle on the side. Great!

Honest reviews for the everyday Amazon shopper! This meat/food thermometer caught my eye quickly due to how it looks and the large visible display as well as being oven and dishwasher safe. The shipping was fast and it came in factory packaging with easy to read text on the thermometer that also glows in the dark (great for BBQs). I have used it frequently since my previous one had broken that I had for over a decade. The thermometer works as it should, however it takes a few uses to get it climatised to the hot and cold transitions and absolutely will need re-calibrating by tightening or loosening the adjustment nut on the back... so before you dive into the delicious food you have prepared be sure that your temperature reading was calibrated properly previous to eating! This calibration is not a design flaw it is intended to allow for accuracy over the lifetime of the product. Take the time to ensure the thermometer is reading properly and your food will be cooked to perfection every meal! The face of the thermometer features a sight arrow that can be adjusted to monitor a desired reading from your oven or BBQ and has a wide range of temperatures covering all safe food thresholds up to boiling water. It's made of food grade stainless steel and the unit is sealed so not to allow for food contamination. Its very easy to clean, dishwasher safe, oven safe and works as you would expect with a large easy to read temperature display in both Celcius and Fahrenheit. Not much else can be said but, the price was more than reasonable for the peace of mind that comes from having properly prepared safe food! The only thing required is knowing that it needs to be calibrated and, once you have that dialed in you are good to go!
