Excellent product
These fans are very impressive. I've had 3 mounted on board our sailboat for at least 6 years and they are still doing great. This one was purchased to add another fan in a forward cabin. They are far superior to the Hella-brand fans of which I have one mounted in an aft cabin. The Bora fans push more air, are much quieter, and better designed than Hella fans. If there is one downside, they are a pain to clean requiring you to take them apart to really get at the blades and inner workings.

Great little fan
Ordered 2 ,I like it ordered 3 more 2 on dining table , two by the bed, & one for little cooking area it gets hot around that area on my cabover , quiet good flow easy to install ,just reverse the your wires cause it says on directions positive , negative , I dint like that at all but did just added 3 amp fuse line wire , so if their is no flow than I reverse wires, but great buy should done that 10 years ago cause dry camping I have no air flow in my camper , oh draws very little amps, bought other model Kona but to to loud that be good for a boat ; so I just went from nearest lamps in camper put t connectors fuse line drill 2 holes easy , donโt think is going to give u ton flow , but for its size is good , not cheap but worth it

Very good fan but weak plastic mounting bracket
I have the Camframo 12v Bora model in black. I installed this in my converted Ford Transit camper in 2020. Iโve liked this fan. It doesnโt use a lot of energy to run, which is important in a van build. It has good power and at high speed puts out a ton of air although it is somewhat noisy inside the confines of a van. It has held up well except for the mounting bracket. After 5 years, the bracket that screws into whatever mounting surface youโre using (wood cabinets in my case) fractured and broke. Iโm trying to find out if I can replace just the mounting bracket because the fan is otherwise in good condition. I think these fans may be better suited to boats (which is what theyโre made for) than the type of constant vibration they experience in a motor vehicle. If I canโt get a replacement bracket from Camframo, Iโll probably replace this fan with one that has a more durable metal mounting bracket as this seems a weak point in an otherwise good product.

Great purchace, highly recomended.
Product does all it says on the tin. Quiet fan that puts out a good amount of air circulation. I like the 3 speeds. The guard protects your fingers and the blades. Consumption is also very good so I do not have to worry about a flat battery bank! My boat originally came with Hella fans. These Caframo Bora are slightly better and the price was good compared to a Hella replacement. Would definitely buy again!

Not Worth the Money.
Instead of writing a separate review I'm posting the complaint I sent to Cafraom, as follows: This is my second Caframo Bora 12V Marine fan. The first one was the variable speed which lasted one summer here in Georgia. The blade was so far out of balance it wore the bearing prematurely but I used it until the rheostat stopped working rendering the fan inoperable. The first one I bought was only warrantied for 1 year and it made it just a few days over that. The second one is a 3 speed, (felt the variable speed was not worth the money for one year and the 3 Speed would probably last longer). Nope. I noticed Caframo made an attempt to balance the blade on this second one with a piece of foam tape on one of the blades. I bought a model airplane prop balancer (which now makes the Caframo cost $100) and did the job right. This one no longer vibrates but the bearings still go dry on daily use. I bought this second one June 30, 2015 it is now Aug. 13 2016. Don't know what happened to this one, it started making a new noise (not the dry bearing noise) and now sometimes turns slowly, sometimes not at all, never up to speed. The fan blade is loose not binding at all. It acts like an old brush motor with worn brushes except motors no longer use brushes???? At the same time I bought the Caframo, I bought a cheap AC 110 v 12in. fan for the living room for $18 (The Caframo's were used in my sleeping quarters on a nightly basis and sometimes when I read). When I received the CHEAP fan, it DID NOT need blade balancing. After a year the bearings in the CHEAP fan DID NOT need lubricating (still does not need lubricating). The motor and speed regulator in the CHEAP fan DID NOT stop working??????? This CHEAP $18 fan runs full time 24 hours a day along side the $70 CAFRAMO at about 10 hours a day average????????????? Obviously I'd get another CHEAP fan but the company doesn't make a smaller one and I need a DC fan in the sleeping quarters for when not at a dock. Also the sleeping quarters, in my 27 ft. boat, is too small to use anything larger than the caframo. I'm flummoxed! If you say yes it has a 3 year warrantee as stated on the box, I have to send it back at a cost of about $15 to $20 making this fan now $115!! and a service charge of $15 to $20 per year to keep the fan running. Not to mention the time sleeping in a boat in the Georgia summer without a fan while you drag your feet on deciding whether or not to send me another one. If I don't do anything, you get away with soaking us for really poor quality products. And I'm out $175 for just 2 years of very low performance fan service. What to do, what to do????? For further information, these fans are only used in the summer months. They are stored for 1/4 Fall, Winter and 1/4 Spring. Bicycling Bob Now in a boat

Great quality Canadian fan! (Beware of Chinese knock-offs.)
We purchased and installed six of these fans on our yacht. All the fans we labeled "Made in Canada" and all six had individual serial numbers. Our fans appeared to be very well built and are quiet. We are extremely pleased with this fan. We did have to notch the mounting base with a Dremmel tool in order to have room for the wire. I contacted their customer service department prior to selecting this model to get the cubic feet per minute of air flow. Canframo responded the next business day. On high setting, the CFMโs are as follows: 748 Bora 12v:128 748 Bora 24v:161 807 Sirocco 12v:187 (According to other Amazon reviews, this model appears to have some design flaws.) 807 Sirocco 24v:198 It appears there are knock-off fans being made in China, as they have they same serial number. (No warranty?) Not sure how one could tell they are getting original fans prior to purchase except to purchase from a reputable retailer. Thank you CE Showroom. Well done.

The high setting has good air movement
Installed for use in my sailboat. Relatively quiet on the lower settings, but not a lot of air movement on these settings (compared to my 120 volt Honeywell Turbo Force fan). The high setting has good air movement, but it then becomes a little too loud when sleeping (still not comparable to Honeywell). Note that I had to loosen the guard screws after installation because the fan blades were rubbing against it.

One of the best available
What can I say? Itโs not like we have a lot of choices out there for 12v fans for marine applications. I find it best for the sleeping cabins and would prefer something with a little more gumption for the Saloon. I have two there and still would prefer something more powerful but I simply couldnโt find a better alternative. I know, some of you will say that they have to be small because they go on boats. To that I say โBunk!โ Boats are getting roomier and you need more airflow. Besides, I started out in the electronics industry. Muffin fans are at least 40 yo technology, as small as... well... a muffin, and can kick up a helluva breeze. So while these are as good as weโre going to get right now, I think we should expect more. (Side track for a moment: who writes the suggestions for these reviews? Why the suggestion for โtravelโ and a star rating? These are 12v fans designed for campers and yachts. Travel is something they just do. Do they ask, โare we there yet?โ, do I have to stop every 30 minutes? No. You want 5 stars for that?! Now back to our regularly scheduled review...) Installation was easy (especially considering all the other things that go wrong on boats), operation is simple, ridiculously quiet (75db on high right next to the fan (think of a whisper in your ear) - ambient sound level of vessel is 63 db with engines off at anchor), and itโs a far far better alternative to the older fan by the same maker.
