Are they ok to use on the outside of house ? Are they rust proof?

they are zinc plated (not hot dipped) steel. Expect rusting after a few year's exposure to weather. Worse in wet or salty climates, less in dry climates. Probably rust about as much as steel EMT.

Can I use these with 1/2 Pex tubing?

Yes. They work well with 1/2" stainless tubing so I would think 1/2" pex would be no problem.

are these made a heavy gauge steel and not really thin where they will bend easy?

As I recall, they are not thin metal like an EMT strap but heavier. Not quite as heavy as the ones I've been use to but still pretty good.
