5" Hook and Loop Replacement Sander Pad for Craftsman 315 Model Random Orbit Sander

I bought this as a replacement hoping it would work with a Craftsman 315.279890. The original just disintegrated after sitting for a couple years. I saw where another review said it fit this model even though it wasn’t specifically listed and I can confirm it does fit this model perfectly with no modifications! I haven’t used it so I can’t attest as to whether or not it will grip the discs well. I am concerned as one review said it doesn’t grip well but we will see. To be determined…

The sander pad was a perfect replacement for my Craftsman (315.279890) corded sander. It was an easy replacement with just only four screws. The sandpaper sanding pads that I use stick very well to the new sanding pad. No issues here. Great replacement.

Excellent replacement part but the description needs updating as it is misleading. The specifications lists the diameter as 5 inches, but that is the nominal size. The actual diameter is 4 13/16 inches. I was not going to order this part because there was a warning that this was a most returned item and my orbital sander was not listed, plus my disc was 4 13/16 and not 5 inches. Everything else seemed to match so I took a shot. This fits the Craftsman 315.279890.

It fit my sander without any modifications. Hooks seem to hook the sanding disc very well. (I haven’t actually sanded anything yet.) It feels stiffer than the original.

Do NOT buy! The velcro is nothing like the original & the sanding disc does NOT stick. You've been warned.

I like this product. I was using the sander a lot and it worked well.

Did not fit my old craftsman random orbital sander, screw holes didn’t line up on the 315.277140.
