Love It
I experienced this product to be super easy to use and I was able to scoop up ice cream without any problems. I wanted an ice cream scooper like Thrifty's uses but you can't purchase those. This does exactly the same job, I get the same form and density in a scoop. You dip it into water, just like any other scooper before pressing it into the ice cream. make sure your ice cream is deep enough to fill the scooper... a press straight down. if your running low on ice cream, I can easily pick up the remaining into the scoop then press straight down to condense it all together. I ordered the pink color and it is a bubblegum pink.

Only works barely in specific situations... sometimes.
Nothing to really compare it too, if you want to try a stacker scooper you pretty much have to try this one. BUT, don't waste your money. I don't care what firmness your ice cream is. We tried extra firm sub zero ice cream, soft, and near melting ice creams. All with the same basic issue. The ice cream rarely sticks into the scooper. So you take the scooper out and the ice cream is still in the container. Just near impossible to get the ice cream to break free from itself. I have complaints about it's design after using it. But honestly that hardly matters because those flaws will not make a difference in it's ability to work well. I don't know how the Thrify's staker scooper works. But they also have a completely different tub based ice cream storage and specific temperatures, etc. Put simply, you will get frustrated getting any ice cream to stay in the scooper and you will crush and bend the ice cream containers while doing it. Our counter was an awful mess when we were done trying it. Save you money and stick to the standard ball shaped scoopers.

Nice
Really convenient but sometimes the metal part detaches. Still way better than a normal scoop. Highly recommend.

Just like thriftys
This scoop was so easy to use. And easy to clean. Absolutely zero issues. Was able to get the last bit of a quart too. It formed it just like Thrifty scoops. Now I don't know if it was easy for me because I used to sling ice cream at Thriftys back in the day, but I had no problem in hard ice cream. Now here's a trick I do, as you are pushing it in, twist with your wrist. Also rinse between scoops.

Works well when the ice cream carton is full but ...
Works well when the ice cream carton is full but less and less well as the carton empties. Behind the counter at an ice cream shop with huge tubs of ice cream this scoop would probably be ideal, but at home in the kitchen with regular, small cartons it's kind of difficult. I went back to using my regular scooper except, as I said, when the carton is full.

Cuisipro Ice cream Scoop and Stack
I really like this. Even on hard Ice cream it's easy to use. It brings it out cone size and is easy to put in the cone. It is a little difficult to get the metal part off for cleaning, but other than that I'm very happy I got this. Works great!

My fingers hurt!
Look...we all want the Thrifty scooper. You can call the scoops barrel, square, cylindrical...you choose, but the reason it's cool is because the scoops fit the cones. This looked like a good idea. It APPEARS to be ergonomically designed (it's not), and the price seemed right. But it's got issues. First, as others have pointed out, it apparently works best on firm ice cream. Here's the problem with that: I don't want to be forced to use another scooper just because the ice cream has been out 5 minutes too long. I found that the ice cream too often wanted to stay in the container. That's counter productive. Then there's the two-piece design. It takes a *LOT* of brute force to push in the tab to take the metal part off (you can see in the picture there's a little white oval near the top of the metal part) I'm not a dainty guy and I had difficulty. The force it takes to push it in is more than uncomfortable, and then as you pull off, the fact that your finger is pushing into a hole where a thin sheet of metal is about to have force on it as you push it up does not help. It's nice that it wasn't THAT expensive, but if you think about the fact that you're still paying for something that you may not want to use, it seems a lot less reasonable. I don't HATE it, but I definitely don't like it, so based on the guidelines here...2 stars is generous. Stick with a regular scoop or fork out the money for a better one. Unless you want to buy mine...hardly used!

Neat gadget
This is a pretty cool gadget. I dipped the scoop into a glass of hot water while dishing out the ice cream. The ice cream was rock solid from the deep freezer. It cut through it like butter. The kids absolutely loved the shapes and the fact that I could stack vanilla and chocolate so neatly. Even the adults were impressed. Taking it apart for cleaning is a bit difficult. However, the more I do it, the easier it becomes.
