MOOG SSD99 Steering Damper Kit

This is an excellent kit for many different types of vehicles. I installed this on a 4" lifted Suzuki Sidekick with 32" x 10" tires, because I was having bad wandering issues on some of the rutted roads I travel. This kit went on easy with just a slight modification to one bracket. This kit made a huge difference to the way that the Sidekick drives now, its just two fingers on the steering wheel. Highly recommend this kit if you have a raised / lifted vehicle or are running wide tires. This kit also made off road much better. Before the steering wheel would whip out of my hands when hitting large rocks on trails. This kit has eliminated 90% of this harsh steering wheel whip.The kit came with all the parts that I needed for my install. Everything shown in the picture is what you get, blue boot and white dampening shock.

it took a little adjusting to make it fit on my 1987 montero, but more importantly it cured my front wheel shimmy which occurred constantly at 35 to 45 mph on my vehicle which has bigger than stock 31x10.5 tires

It is a different color as stated , as far as being Moog I think it is I checked with local parts store and the box is the same as their Moog part. All made in Mexico and the ones they had in stock one was white the other black . None of them say Moog on them just the part numbers.

Nothing like the description. White with blue boot. Nothing on the box or the item reflected it was even made by Moog.The positive, Amazon made the return painless.

If the box didn't have a sticker on it saying it's Moog, I would never be able to tell. Also, it was a white painted damper with a blue boot. huh? Ok, so after getting it, I re-read the description and it said "colors may vary". So I guess I should have read it a little better. The damper appears to be working great, however, I'm still leary about it actually being the brand I thought I purchased. Seller should at least give a color selection choise when ordering.

Added this to a 1960 F100 that had a slight wobble at 45 mph. It quited down the wobble and made the truck much safer. The boot color delivered was blue and that looked fine.

This unit is a MOOG. The model number SSD99 you can find on the MOOG website. I think the instructions are lacking but it may just be me as I have never installed one before.

I had a bad shimmy in my front end but after spending the 20 minutes installing this, the shimmy was gone. Highly recommend.
