Moses, God's Brave Servant: Biblical Values, Level 2 (I Can Read! / Dennis Jones Series)

Artwork was great without a doubt. But the way the story was told was very poor in my opinion. Page 4 - who were the Hebrews? you don't know till page 32, the last page - oh, they're God's people. Moses didn't 'leave' Egypt, he did a bad thing and ran. God doesn't live in a bush. God 'appeared' in the bush to talk to Moses. Page 14, needs lots of rework. Complete omitted that each plage showed God's power over one of the Egyption 'gods' and the plagues didn't hurt God's people. ...shortening an important story so much in order to glorify your pictures is not good. And the title 'God's Brave Servant' is a misnomer... Moses was not always brave, and his disobedience costed him entry to the promise land. maybe 'God's loyal Servant' would have been a better title. Oh, and you forgot that he was a highly educated man due to access to the Egyptian library and he wrote a few books we have in the bible. really a missed opportunity. wish I could return this book. I don't really want to give it to my grandson.

My kindergartner was able to read it and my preschooler was kept interested by the fantastic illustrations!

Very good graphics fun for my son to look at. Even asks to have this book read to him every night.

I love it because even though the story is simplified for children to understand, it does not lose content and is Biblical sound. Also, I've been looking for books that would engage my children's attention, and they absolutely love the pictures, colors and all the details in every page. I am very happy with this collection, and I wish there were more books, specially on the OT prophets.
