Divine Bounty Glucosamine Sulfate 2000mg with MSM, 240 Small Capsules

I have been bothered by shoulder, neck and back pain for close to 50 years, due to injuries and excessive physical activities. . When it got too intense I used small amounts of prescription muscle relaxant, and pain killers to relieve the pain and restore movement. When we started going to a new doctor recently, he suggested that I try glucosamine. However, when I tried to purchase some, I found that all of the brands were based on shellfish, that I have an extreme allergy to. By extreme, I mean "life threatening". I discovered this product, in June of 2018, and began a very careful, and monitored use. The pain subsided, after about two weeks, and the movement of my arms and shoulders which had been restricted, gradually was restored, in about a month. But wait, it gets better. Almost 15 years ago my wife, was told that she should have hip replacement surgery, because of deterioration, caused by arthritis. After seeing several of our friends, and relatives who had the hip replacements done, suffer for years, and endure product recalls, and numerous other medical procedure and ending up no better, and still endure large amounts of pain and in some cases worse, she opted out. Over the years she, began using a cane, and began to rely on shopping carts for support, when we went shopping. In addition she spent many sleepless, and sometimes tearful nights. However, when she saw the really good effect this product, had on me, she began to use it. Again over a few months, there was a gradual, and noticeable improvement. For most part she is pain free, and able to walk without the cane, but she still leans on the shopping cart. If I didn't see it, I would not have believed it possible. But taking this supplement is also accompanied by exercise, not a formal program, but by leading an active life style, and eating a mostly plant based diet. We are both 78 years old, and looking forward to the spring gardening season. I manage to do something outside a few hours each day, weather permitting, while my wife enjoys cooking, and cleaning, and sprucing up our home. (yes enjoys cleaning) I hope that this information is helpful and someone, at least might try using glucosamine, and only submit to surgery as a last resort. Remember it is elective.

I have been taking this for a couple of weeks and seem to notice an improvement in my joints. It's too soon to be absolutely sure but I'll take any improvement I can get!

i’ve done a lot of damage to my body over the years and now that i’m in my 60s, it’s catching up to me. i would wake up with sore knees and sore wrists from bone on bone contact due to cartilage damage, this helps, it’s not a miracle cure all but it helps along with my other meds. size of capsules is manageable, no real taste or smell to mention, and they make getting up every day a little easier.

Hopefully this review will be noticed by someone at the Divine Bounty company. I emailed their customer service reps with my inquiry, but I did not receive a response. I did not feel any different having finished my first bottle of these pills. Even so, I wish to continue taking them because it gives me a sense of doing something healthy for myself, even if I don't feel it physically. I plan to add stars to this one-star review when I receive a satisfactory answer to the following question: Can someone please tell me if the Glucosamine and MSM formula has changed? I am down to the last pills of my first bottle, and I just opened my second bottle (both bought on Amazon). The bottles themselves are identical, as you can see from my first pic. However, my next pic shows that the pills from the first bottle look like sand sprinkled with black pepper, whereas the pills from the second bottle look like pure white granulated sugar! I completely understand your concern and hope I can put your mind at ease. Rest assured, we have not changed any of the ingredients, and both of the bottles you have purchased are safe to consume. The reason for the brownish and cream colors is that glucosamine sulfate is susceptible to a change in color when exposed to heat or moisture. The vegetarian form of glucosamine that we use in our formula is particularly prone to this phenomenon. Heat and moisture in the surrounding environment will facilitate a reaction between the ingredients. This reaction causes a darkening of the powder and the appearance of brown specks inside the capsules. While the change in color can appear unusual, the browning is much like the brown color on the outside of bread after you've baked it in an oven. It is a superficial change that does NOT affect the quality of the nutrients inside. The capsules are still safe to consume, despite any color changes. We have spoken to Amazon to ensure they are storing the bottles correctly, and they assure us that their warehouses meet the necessary storage requirements. We can only assume that the color change occurs in the delivery trucks, depending on the temperature and length of time they are in there that particular day. To avoid a color change in any new bottles, I suggest storing the bottle in a cool, dry place away from exposure to sunlight (but do not refrigerate). I hope that helps! This product has definitely worked for me. I bought this particular one because most of the online research I read was to use shellfish free and this product seemed to be the best one for the price. My current doctor recommended full knee replacement surgery a few months ago. After taking this product for approximately six weeks now, I can walk much better. The only thing I've changed is adding this supplement. I am cautiously optimistic because I've had knee pain from osteoarthritis. When I first saw this new doctor, the x-ray showed that the cartilage was almost completely gone on the inside of my left knee and was starting to deteriorate on the outside of the same knee. The surgery I had in January (with a different doctor) didn't help. After changing doctors, this one recommended the surgery. Since I've been feeling better, I postponed surgery for three more months. I go back to see the doctor in November to again discuss surgery. If I am still without pain and don't need my cane (haven't used it for awhile now), I might just hold off a little longer. I am cautiously optimistic because I've had knee pain for well over a year and this supplement almost seems to be good to be true, but for me, it's working.

My Orthopedic Surgeon prescribed Glucosamine for me, and when I went to pick it up locally everything anyone had included shellfish :(. I am potentially fatally allergic to shellfish, so no way I could take those! Went hunting on Amazon and very fortunately found these :). No shellfish, have the Glucosamine the doctor wanted me taking - and they DO seem to be helping with my joints! VERY pleased! Have now been taking this for over a month, and within 48 hours it had the wonderful side effect of nearly normalizing my bowels for the first time in over a decade (I’m on medication ps that cause issues). At about the four week period I began seeing a HUGE difference in my joints. For years if I worked in the yard more than 15-30 minutes I would be in agony for days with hands, lower back, hips and knees. As a once avid gardener it was horrible. I am now able to spend 2-3 hours a day working hard in the yard, and one day spent 8 hours!!! I feel like I have been given my life back, I cannot recommend this highly enough. For me it has been a miracle drug!

This product is fantastic. But in the beginning I let my "pill fear" get the best of me and when I opened up the bottle and saw the large pills and then read the packaging which said take 4 pills a day I then proceeded to close the bottle and put it on the shelf for 2 months. Something inside of me said to revisit the pills perhaps the price I paid or my constant knee pain but I did and wow wee! I took only 2 pills because I was nervous about so many pills and after only 2 days, I lost about 5 Lbs and significant inches off my waist. On the 4 day I decided to start taking the full dosage of 4 pills per day and not only have I lost over 10 pounds in less than 1 month I have felt improvement in my joints. I would wholeheartedly recommend this product to anyone wanting to feel better, healthier, loose weight, add as a supplement to any joint pain regimen w/ doctor approval (chronic pain such as Fibromyalgia, nerve pain, MS, etc.) I spoke to my Rheumatologist and he supports positive and proactive accent supports. This is a good product, if you are like me and have had traumatic cartilage loss in a joint and need glucosamine sulfate everyday to prevent swelling and pain, and if you are also allergic to shellfish. Each capsule has 500 mg of shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate, and 350 mg of MSM. A serving size is 4 capsules, and their recommendation is to take one serving twice per day. After more than 4 years of trial and error, I have found that I need 3000 mg of shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate every 12 hours, to prevent swelling and pain in my arthritic left ankle. I had a sports injury 10 years ago that caused me to lose 1/3 of the cartilage covering the talar dome within my left ankle joint. Surgery was able to fix most components of the ankle damage, but it could not replace the area of delaminated cartilage. Post-op, I found over time that 3000 mg of shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate every 12 hours is the minimum that it takes to prevent localized swelling and pain in my ankle. Over the years since my reconstructive surgery on the ankle, I have found that both chondroitin and MSM do not provide any noticeable improvements of my arthritis symptoms. By contrast, glucosamine sulfate alone, in a high-enough dose (in my case 3000 mg every 12 h), prevents my arthritis symptoms by nearly 100%. Everyone is different, but if you find that you don't get any noticeable benefit from MSM, you can save money by purchasing a product containing only the shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate. I wish Divine Bounty offered such an option, as it would cut my expenses for this product in half. In the meantime, after years of taking this product, I recently switched over to a shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate product without MSM, manufactured by a brand called Doctor's Best. Each capsule contains 750 mg of shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate instead of 500 mg, so I can take 4 capsules twice per day to get the dosage I need, instead of 6 twice per day. The capsules are also smaller, so they are easier to swallow. The bottom line is that the price I now pay per mg of shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate is half the price I had to pay for in the Divine Bounty product (in which I was also paying for MSM, that never in years did anything noticeable for my injury). But if in your personal case you ARE able to detect noticeable improvements from the addition of MSM, then the Divine Bounty product would be one of the best values I've seen for the money. In my case however, I don't need the addition of the MSM, so I am now purchasing a significantly more-affordable product containing only the shellfish-free glucosamine sulfate I need.
