WORKS! If you have that classic triangle on the back frame, this is fairly easy to bolt-on.
I put the kit on my Mongoose mountain bike which my Grandma gave me for my birthday years ago. It breathed a lot of new life into that old bike and wow what a rush! I went with 36 Volts and 450 Watts, which is considered pretty decent for a pedal-assist mode bike even these days. I can ride full throttle, in the top gear, and I can feel my legs still stoking the speed. This type of ebike conversion kit has the advantage of being independent from the regular drive train. So I can still use all the gears for climbing or cruising, and the motor can help in all situations. And one time when my pant leg was caught in the regular bike chain, the electric conversion kit allowed me to keep riding to a place where it was safe for me to stop and fix the problem. Likewise if the electric drive system ever failed for some reason (which it has NOT), you could still ride the bike with the pedals just as before and there is minimal additional friction. The only challenging part of building the kit was adjusting the big triangular plate to match my XL frame geometry perfectly. I didn't have a vice, or a solid workbench, so I had to resort to propping it up on the curb and hitting it with a hammer. It probably would have been all right straight out of the box, but I wanted that plate to curve a bit more to snuggle up tight next to my rear triangle. I took this bike after the conversion to Burning Man, and that was a great decision. The kit held up to all the extreme conditions like a champ. It made it possible to ride around all week without being completely exhausted and sore. Well yeah, I guess I was still fairly exhausted and sore, but just not as thoroughly thrashed as I might have been. I am sure I saw more art and had more fun because of this kit being on my bike. It just makes sense to do an ebike conversion, since bikes are cheap, or you may already have one. And this kit is a fraction of the price of a new ebike. If you are on the fence about this purchase, reading my review, I would say definitely go for it. Just don't be afraid to ask for help if you have difficulty with any part of the installation. I watched a few youtube videos where they each have creative approaches to how to adapt the universal adapter to make it fit just right. If I wasn't able to do it with the hammer, I might have taken it to a shop to let them do it. If you have the traditional, regular triangle shape there on the back of your bike, it should be pretty easy to bolt this on. I am seriously considering purchasing the same ebike conversion kit again to put one on my riding partner's bike, since my overall experience with this item was fantastic.

DIYers Only, But a good option if you can make it work!
I was tempted to give this 5-stars, but the installation can be a little tricky, So – 4 stars Only. This seller describes this as a “fits most bikes, with some modification” and that appears to be an honest and accurate description/warning, IMO. If you are NOT a DIYer, then this product is probably not for you as it is not likely to bolt right on to almost any bike. Also, if you think you need instructions for this kit, then this is probably not the right kit for you. One of the seller’s pics shows the wiring connections and various youtube videos will show you what others have had to go thru to mount the motor and ALIGN the sprockets (which does have to align pretty well). If you are a DIYer, have a bike and want to get into e-biking inexpensively – then this may be the best option. I would recommend, testing/hooking up your battery (separate purchase), controller and motor and make sure everything appears to be working prior to attempting installation. I had to partially flatten the mounting bracket to get proper alignment between the motor’s sprocket and the sprocket that bolts to the rear wheel spokes (some shimming and additional metric nuts and bolts were also needed). This alignment needs to be pretty close to straight otherwise the chain will probably jump off the sprockets and is likely to be damaged. Also the chain should not be dead-tight as this will also cause excessive wear and/or damage. As you can see from the pictures, the mounting bracket would only attach in 2 of the 3 desired/suggested mounting points. For me, that turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I was able to mount the plate and still be able to remove the rear wheel without unbolting the mounting plate (I did trim the plate, a little, to be able to remove the nut holding the rear wheel on). For my rear mount point I used the bike’s two rack mount holes. I also added a quick release link to the chain to facilitate rear wheel removal). As some others have mentioned your rear heel may hit the motor when pedaling, mine did, just barely and a very slight foot adjust solved the problem, for me. I bought the kit with the twist grip throttle, I like it, but mine is very sensitive with only the slightest bit of twist providing a bit more assist than I would like, but OK. I have a 7-speed street cruiser and with only a very slight twist the assist is almost too much making pedaling in my highest gear almost pointless. I bought this kit because I am in my 70s and pedaling into a strong wind or up pretty much any kind of hill is just too strenuous for me to be having any kind of fun. I weigh 170 pounds and the bike weighs just over 50 pounds, as outfitted. Full throttle I can get up to about 22 mph (which is faster than I want to go). I have been able to ride up a hill that has about a 600 foot rise over about a 1 mile distance (some easy pedaling was required in lowest gear). I have this kit paired with a 36v 20amp-hr battery and I get +30 miles with no pedaling. So, if you don’t need to go crazy-fast and need some assist for hills and wind then this could be a great kit for you. I have only ridden this kit for about 50 miles, so I can’t comment on longevity or durability. So far nothing has broken. Best of luck to you if you decide to try this kit. Also, if you try the kit and can NOT make it work, L-faster does sell a separate mounting bracket (you probably had to alter the kit’s bracket to try to do the install, so if you buy the replacement bracket you could then probably return the kit for a refund? I bought from, ”delivered by Amazon”, as I assumed it would make for an easy return? (not 100% sure since I did not return the kit).

A great DIY ebike conversion kit
I've had fun both putting this together and riding it around. I mounted this onto a 26 inch Huffy 10 speed mountain bike. The motor bracket is not compatible with the frame of the bicycle. If it were wider and had an adjustable slot instead of holes on the top end I think it would fit better. But it is not a problem with a trip to the hardware store. Buy a small pack of bolts, a flat bracket, and with some drilling, an extension bracket is complete. Everything else mounted fine. Got a battery, some pipe hangers to mount it, an enclosure for the electronics, and a typical bike speedometer. All cost about $400, including the used bike from Goodwill. I'm pleased with the quality of the components overall, despite the motor mounting bracket compatibility. Be careful on what battery you go with. I'm not confident with most of the brands out on the market. Mine has been ok, but the item page disappeared from Amazon. The 450W unit runs at 18 to 22 MPH maximum, depending on what conditions you're facing. The fastest I can get it with motor and pedaling has been 24 MPH. Motor has enough torque I don't need to pedal to get started or at all unless I feel like it. Terrain hasn't been a problem. I tend to leave the bike in high gear at all times, occasionally shifting the front derailleur up and down. The throttle thumb switch feels uncomfortable on the first long trip but you get used to it. Noise level is not bad. Other people will be able to hear you coming and going, but it isn't going to be heard indoors.

Si è bruciato dopo due giorni. Al inizio mi sembrava buono. Però si surriscsldava. Motore spazzolato. Presenza di collettore. E fiamme.
