You can use this in Washington, you just can't use electronic calls or decoys for deer, turkey, or waterfowl in WA State.. just checked the regulations because I saw this question and have my eye on this product.

I'm new to hunting coyotes. how far away from where i'm hunting should i place it? i typically hunt 20-100 yds out when hunting deer.

I place it 50 yds out hoping the coyote or fox comes between me and it when circling. But I hunt with a super mag shotgun.
