The nylon tipped set screws are an optional part. They do provide a bit less marring, however, the main purpose is for attachment on 24 gauge steel panels. The standard cupped tip and or the nylon tipped screws may be used on 22 gauge or heavier steel panels.

Q: Does this work for menards pro snap roofing?

It works perfectly for those metal roof join are narrow flat. I have never tried to 1"+ groove (?). Those 12 bolts will clamp & squeeze the metal roof joins. If you are using this for customer's roof, you have to let the owner knows that only one area you will clamp/crushing. I love this device as safety and meeting OSHA safety standard. Another thing you can do is charge the customer for this device and leave it as part of permanent roof anchor to be used in the future for other contractors. This way, it doesn't look bad at all.
