Nurse [DVD + Digital]

great flick for adults

Boy, this movie is a doozy. With some of the most laughable dialogue I’ve heard on screen in years and some of the most bizarre murders I’ve ever seen, “Nurse” is a treat for lovers of bad cinema. The blood flows like water on screen the movie is a very brief 84 minutes which culminates in one of the goriest final acts in recent memory. Sure the movie has more plot holes than the body’s Abby leaves in her wake, but if you enjoy a good-bad horror movie…you won’t find anything better than this one.

I took a chance on this because I like low budget cheesy horror movies. This movie is not the best due to over-simplified acting and semi-cheesy story telling. The directing and cinematography could have been much better, but over-all it was fun. For what they were going for, they pulled it off well. 3D was decent for this type of movie, yet it wasn't always perfect (2D & 3D are both on the same disc). The PQ was good, but many scenes could have been sharper and clearer. AQ was pretty good as well Extras are a bit light, but for this type of movie I wouldn't really want to see anything more. If you liked the simple style movies like Midnight Meat Train, My Bloody Valentine 3D or Freddy vs. Jason's silly style acting and directing, you'll probably like Nurse 3D. I don't regret Blind buying it, so I guess that's a good sign. But it is violent and there is plenty of nudity. I didn't like all the fake blood and special effects, and after a while it just gets to be a bit ridiculous, however that's what they were going for. I recommend a rent or stream before I would recommend a purchase. Not much re-watchability besides a fun movie with some drunk friends.

Nurse is a B-Level, maybe even C-Level thriller that instead of embracing its awfulness tries way too hard to be serious. It stars Paz de la Huerta as Abby Russell/Sarah Price a nurse who is also a serial killer who kills unfaithful men. It also stars Katrina Bowden as Danni Rodgers, a new nurse whom Abby becomes obsessed with. The problem is that the movie takes itself way too seriously instead of embracing what it is and going over the top with campiness, which would have worked a lot better. Another issue is that, while Paz de la Huerta definitely has the looks to pull off the role, she really does not seem to have the acting range to give the kind of performance that would have made her character better. It should be noted that she unsuccessfully sued the producers of the movie after it came out alleging that they had overdubbed her performance after she was criticized for giving a monotonic performance, which was an apt description. For those who get the Blu-Ray, the A/V quality of the movie is great. There are a handful of extras including a director's commentary track, a short (about 8-minute) making-of featurette, and a 6-minute long collection of video diaries with Bowden and Corbin Bleu. Overall, the movie is okay, but not great. It is a pretty standard campy serial killer movie (I would not call it a traditional horror movie) more like a combination thriller-suspense movie with a lot of blood. Paz de la Huerta can definitely play a crazy obsessive and she is not shy about taking off her clothes. There is almost as much nudity in the movie as there is violence, so be aware of that if it is something that would bug you. You definitely have to be a fan of B-movies to even entertain watching this, but if you are it is worth a look, but not a must-see.

First Paz de La Hureta does a great job in this movie. This movie lasts abut an hour and a half but it seemed to me like it was 45 minutes. The movie was not quite what I expected it was better. I enjoyed the commentary on this movie which the Director pointed out the stunt double did an excellent job of mimicking the star. I'd say this is the best overall 3D movie I've ever seen. In other words it would stand alone as 2D.

The Nurse stars Paz de la Huerta as Abby, who takes revenge out on married men who are out on the town & trying to cheat on there wives. At first I thought de la Huerta was a man in drag, I hate to sound cruel but she looks like a man in some parts of the movie. Anyway, Abby meets a new nurse & beguns a deadly realtionship with her. The opening credits are neat & the whole movie was enjoyable overall, I wanted to view it again after watching it. I would welcome a sequel if de la Huerta returns. Highly recommended to fans of trashy horror flicks who don't expect too much.

Infermiera bisessuale, traumatizzata da bambina per aver scoperto il padre che faceva sesso con l'amante, punisce i maschietti prepotenti e bugiardi ammazzandoli nei modi più originali. Sgangherato ma divertente horror erotico, qui in edizione tedesca ma spesso reperibile su Amazon anche in lingue meno ostiche. Una curiosità: mentre girava il film, la sexy protagonista ebbe un incidente con un'ambulanza e dovette essere soccorsa da infermiere vere.

Ce film se laisse regarder...même en 3D. Il faut aimer le côté gore/déglinguée du personnage principale plutôt sexy... Elle est la fois moraliste et plus ou moins féministe mais surtout frapadingue mais l'actrice est pas douée. Le film est finalement intéressant si on le regarde au second degré un peu comme une série B

Leggendo sulla copertina frontale la scritta uncut associato a un bel divieto ai minori di 18 anni e sul retro una durata di 87 minuti ci si aspetta una festa ancora più truculenta. E invece no! Il film in blu ray non dura come indicato sul retro copertina 87 minuti ma bensì 84 compreso tutta la sigla finale. La qualità video è superiore all'edizione in dvd. L'unica pecca (ma solo per noi italiani) è l'audio solo in inglese o tedesco. Sono in commercio edizioni in blu ray con l'audio in spagnolo ma non in italiano. In italiano c'è solo il dvd. Faccio presente che il parlato per questo film è importante e quindi, per noi italiani, consiglio il dvd.
