Is this self watering so if I am not home a day it will be okay?

If you water on a regular basis, the soil will stay moist for days. No worries if you are gone for a day or two.

Is the bottom tray removable?

Yes, it is removable. Snaps on.

It says hanging. Is there a picture that shows it hanging? Does it come with the things to hang it?

The planters stack and have a hole in the center. If you want, you can run a chain through them and support the bottom of the stack to hang it - it will be fairly heavy. Or you can run 3/4 inch pipe like PVC down the center to connect a stack of planters and hang them from that. It’s easy to stack more than 5 with a PVC pipe core to support them.
