the flies are laughing at me
Well..... it looks funky, it lights up, it makes a little whirring noise, but after 30 hours, it has caught.... drum roll.... no insects. In fact the insects seem to totally avoid it. So unless you're looking for a new night light, avoid it. Honestly so annoyed there is a whirring fan in it, doesn't appear to do much, the light looks pretty I suppose. I should have just bought fly paper but I thought surely in this day and age there's a better solution. Apparently not. So annoyed I wasted the money on this

Does catch mozzies
I get a severe reaction to mozzie bites and we don't like the burning smell from a more industrial bug zapper so we decided to try this.As i have such a bad reaction we tend to be very careful not to allow mozzies in during mozzie season but it has caught a couple so does seem to work.I would say it is not as effective as a more industrial bug zapper but it is a lot less obtrusive and more suitable for a bedroom enviroment.

A little disappointed ....
Not quite what I had expected, noisy fan within unit, just bright blue led lights, not attracting any flying insects, during day or night, a little disappointed with the product .

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED
This product is sold saying that it is a fly zapper. When it arrived there was no instructions/manual. Tried to find how to empty the unit so looked again at description given by seller on amazon. No instructions in description on how to do this. Only when reading customers questions did we find that this product is no good for household flys which is was we wanted it for. Seller's Description EXTREMELY MISLEADING. No point in sending it back as it would cost more than the item is worth. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Dreadful
Firstly, I appreciate it’s a low value item and so my expectations understandably weren’t awfully high. We purchased during the Summer in the hope of keeping flies away from our house rabbits (due to the risk of fly strike) as it appeared to be more energy efficient than traditional ‘fly zap’ lights. The unit has a relatively small footprint and can be powered by USB, luckily we had USB built into the wall sockets which made this easier although a typical USB adapter would suffice. The premise of the device is relatively simple, it uses UV (Ultraviolet) light to attract flying insects and then the ‘powerful fan’ draws them down to the basket compartment below where they are trapped and die.The fan is akin to being coughed on by as asthmatic gerbil and the LEDs, whilst admittedly energy efficient, don’t appear to offer suitable UV luminance to attract flying insects. We used for a number of weeks and caught nothing, unfortunately our rabbits chewed the cable before we could return this waste of plastic.

Just what I needed
Brought this off the back of getting bitten multiple times by Midges/Mosquito's and having to be rushed into Hospital as it became very infected so as you can imagine I wanted something that would keep the things at bay and away from me. Seems to work great and looks so cool. The blue light it emits is also very calming to me witch is an added bonus, item also very quite and you don't even notice its there. Would recommend a buy if you are looking for a portable small fly killer on those hot muggy summers days/nights. Can be powered by a power bank witch makes it great for taking on camping trips also works just as good off a USB extension lead in my flat .
