Recommend taking a screwdriver and tightening the screw holding the turn head onto the tool (then it won't pop off), easy fix. Also watch the posted video on Amazon to see how to operate it once the sprinkler head is activated. Put it where your sprinklers are, so there isn't any running around trying to find it while hundreds of gallons are flooding your place. I also recommend knowing where the water shutoff valve is and if you need to also pick up that tool for you particular setup--you might need to turn the water off first, then get the sprinklers--depending on how your setup, of course. Maybe get a firefighter over to give you suggestions on action priority, so the least amount of water damage as possible is done and you know what you need to do first and where. Make sure everyone else who could be present also knows what to do and where the tool/s are kept. And make sure you have a safe way to reach the sprinklers fast.

Overall I recommend this product. As a firefighter I have struggled on calls trying to place wedges or other devices into a activated water sprinkler. A tool like this in theory is exactly what I have been looking for. Simple construction and seems well built. Looking forward to testing this tool at the local training center on an activated sprinkler to test its ability.

Jan 2022 in the cold weather, a fire sprinkler froze and broke then over 800 gallons of water destroyed the kitchen and what is below it. The HOA hired someone to fix the issue but I knew something was not right, during the cold weather a few days ago I felt the cold air coming into the fire sprinkler so to get prepaid I got this tool and last night temp was -10 so I woke up and saw the sprinkler started to drip water from deicing The fire department came in before it fully broke this tool gave me peace of mind, showed it to fire department guys and they said it would have helped a lot. I did not use it and I hope I won't but having it knowing that you can stop such an accident is really like driving 4x4 with rails snow

I (luckily) can't comment on if this actually works or not as I haven't had a broken sprinkler head but it seems high quality and well made. Turnscrew moves nicely and it has a good heavy weight to it. I ended up hanging mine from a little hook at the bottom of my basement stairs so I always know exactly where it is if there was an accident that broke a sprinkler head. That's probably pretty important as you don't want to be digging through a drawer or toolbox when your house is been flooded.

I'm a sprinkler fitter, this can come in handy in case of a broken head. I've made repairs to a system where the fire department have had this in place in a couple of popped heads. Great product

A must have tool. If you hit a sprinkler head by accident and water floods your place you better have good insurance. Water the#1 Insurance claim in condo's and houses.
