I purchased this item for it's intended purpose. To use on a floor yoga mat for aiding in spinal therapy. The description states the item to be "firm". I would better describe the item as "hard". After inital use following exercise guidelines, this product has caused more pain than providing any relief. This may be attirbuted to my age. At 65, I'm 5'11, 205 lbs. and fairly agile. However, I am discountinuing use of this product out of concern for potential injury during use. I do have a softer item on order. I'll return to this review after testing a product not deemed as "firm".

This roller is very firm. Works out your tight muscles.

This is actually my second time purchase this roller. I have one that I use after the gym or when the achy legs or tight back kick in. It really helps me and although I'm not an expert, I feel like it helps keep my muscles stretched and when used regularly I don't get that "tightness" in my legs. My daughter would see it and use mine, so I bought one for her. This is a high density roller -- it does not have much give so it may hurt. If you are very sensitive to the pressure, you may want a softer one.

Works well to stretch out back and relieves upper back and shoulder knots. Love feeling the crack when lifting arms over head when roll is positioned at upper back. The size is perfect too. Tried a smaller one prior to buying this size and that slipped out more easily.

Very happy with this. Had a less firm roller before for several years; it became a bit 'squashed'. This one is much better - nice and firm, and doesn't feel like it will ever get compressed or wear out. Been using it for a number months now - all good.
