I’ve been using the KNIPEX Electronics Super Knips mostly for trimming zip ties, little plastic bits, and fine wires around my desk/setup, and they’re kind of ridiculous in how clean they cut. The blades line up perfectly and give a true flush cut—zip ties disappear instead of leaving that sharp little fang that slices your hand open later. They also slip into tight spots easily; the head is small and the tips are super precise, so it’s easy to get right up against a surface. The handles are way more comfortable than they look. The spring action is light, so you can sit there doing a ton of tiny cuts without your hand getting tired. They feel solid and “premium” in that Knipex way—no slop in the pivot, no flex in the jaws. Couple of caveats: these are delicate precision cutters, not general-purpose wire cutters. They’re perfect for small copper leads, zip ties, and plastic, but I wouldn’t use them on steel wire, thick cable, or anything you’d normally reach for a bigger pair of cutters for—you’ll ding the cutting edge and hate yourself. There’s also no lock to keep them closed in a drawer, so they just kind of sit open unless you store them carefully. If you need a precision cutter for electronics work, cable management, or cleaning up small plastic parts, these are absolutely worth the money. Just treat them like a scalpel, not a bolt cutter.

Have you ever used someone else's tool and knew right away that you had to have that tool? That was my experience with this tool. My tool partner let me use these to cut some zip ties I put up and with the very first cut I knew that I had to have this tool. I had been using the Klein flush cuts for years and I'll be honest they are not on the same planet as the Knipex flush cuts. These flush cuts zip ties perfectly flush EVERYTIME! The blade is so sharp it cuts the tie with almost no effort, like a hot knife trough butter. It has the best grip of any flush cuts I've used and based on my partners experience with them they are also very durable. My Klein flush cuts would take a crap on me and break after less than a year of use (The spring fails and they come apart).

I feel like a lot of the complaints on this tool come from it's misuse. These are flush cutters, not diagonal cutters. If you beat on these every day and use them to cut things they aren't really meant to cut, they will break. While high quality, this is a relatively delicate tool meant for delicate work. They are perfect for cleaning up the ends of zip ties and making clean cuts on delicate wire. If you use these as your go-to package opening tool, they will not last you every long.

Fantastic pair of knips. I use these mainly for small electronics and they are fantastic for it. I previously used an old pair of splicing scissors from Jameson and these are much more pleasant to work. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I've only used this on cat 5e and cat 6 cables. Works like a charm for cutting off the extra copper ends and the string + plastic piece found in cat 6. I've used it a lot with keystone jacks and it was perfect for the job. Maybe not great at cutting the cable housing, but that's what proper cable cutters are for. My cable cutters are a little too thick to do a good job at cutting off the extra cable from keystone jack, which is what motivated me to buy these cutters. Easy to use, never gets stuck, and feels great in the hand. Would recommend to anyone who frequently has to deal with cables like this. Maybe a little too overkill if it's uncommon for you.

Excellent qiuality snips. No sharp nose makes it particalarly useful as it wouldn't rip your pockets. The only downside is that it doesn't open wide enough for cutting 1.5mm 3-core flex cable.
