PMP Project Management Professional Exam Certification Kit: 2021 Exam Update

Looking forward to studying! Wanted to mention that it says no returns if shrink wrapped is ripped and it arrived with a rip already in the shrink wrap. I don’t plan to return it but that seemed a little fishy.

This kit was the foundation of my PMP certificate process. I used other resources to augment this kit but it was the hub of my study and instrumental in the passing of the PMI.org PMP test. I found most helpful was the structure of the book study process: a) topics are presented, b) quick exams on each topic, and c) flashcards and practice exams on the CD. I also liked the "Street smarts" book in this kit. Feedback on improvements: A) The practice exams and flashcards in my edition (2009) was no portable via smartphone or any mobile device. B) the flash cards could not be printed as I use flashcards on index cards to be very helpful when walking and hiking. The buyer should check into this feature before buying. Having the exams and flashcards portable would be very helpful.

I didn't use the main study guide much (rather used Andrew Ramdayal's guide). The online mock exam resources were brilliant (tougher then actual PMP exam and great for preparing and tracking performance).

I had the previous version (5th edition) of the book. However, the combination of these three books is what a PMP candidate really needs. It covers all areas of the exam, it gives you sample test questions and a book with real life examples. Really worth it

I heard some good things about Ms. Heldman so I bought the exam books. Unfortunately there was no way to look inside or I wouldn't have bothered in the first place. The text font was so small I couldn't begin to read it. So I tried looking at the practice exam part and was able to read a few, found out the questions are, in my opinion, unnecessarily complex. They test more about mechanical knowledge than practical knowledge.

Disorganized, inarticulate, unclear, confusing, and virtually lacking in substance. Questions poorly designed and not to intended to teach or test understanding, but to split irrelevant hairs and generally trick the student. Did not help me at all. Finally, I had to buy other books and I am glad I did since Ramdayal is far superior as an exam preparation aide. Sorry I wasted my money and time trying to learn from this author as this book delayed and blocked my ability to take the exam.

There are multiple review questions that are so poorly written they are unreadable. As an example the question asks “which one is false” and the answer is “all of the above” but it’s meant to indicate all of the above are true! It’s very difficult to prepare for the exam when you cannot trust the practice questions. Content in the body of the book is well written although it contains a lot of superfluous detail.

Total waste of money. 850 pages is too much to be effective. The book should be condensed to not more than 200 pages. To help candidates pass the exam, only the relevant materials should be included to help them pass easily. Don't waste your money on this one. You will be overwhelmed with unnecessary content. Get something like Project Management for Dummies. No more than 150 to 200 pages.

Very useful material it helps me a lot and this kit together with some other materials from PM-Prepcast, make my way to the PMP Certification on the first try, I would recommend it to anyone that want to become PMP Certified.

I liked both books. Exactly what I expected. I haven’t finished my readings, but so far so good.

I used to consider Sybex wiley the go to for quality... This book is a total waste of money paper and ink. Mistakes in text, in listed diagrams, overly wordy hyper long chapters that drown you in useless stuff. And the questions are so poorly written with up to 6 different options to choose from and a wall of useless text where by the time you get to the actual question you don't even understand how you are supposed to answer.... Stick with official pmi, udemy, or Tia to prep this is a much better investment than this failure of a book

Not the greatest content. I passed the test, but I would not say that these books help that much.
