These units are so much fun! This is the first one that I ordered with pins already soldered to it, and that makes it even better. I use these to program lighting effects for models that I build, but these things are loaded with functionality that I haven't even used yet. You don't have to be a programming genius to figure it out unless you're doing something extremely complicated. Easy, fun, and it works great on USB power.

Mighty little board
Used it for a button box for a flight simulator. Fun to work with. Works great, super small, great value!

Easy to use with basic but good examples.
Drop into a breadboard and go. The Arduino IDE isn't always straightforward but thankfully more robust solutions exist that can utilize the command line tools.

Arduino support is good.
I like the device for its power. However, having a Bluetooth and Wifi built in might be more usuful now days.Still powerful and well made platform for embedded work.
