Oster Professional Pet Grooming Comb, Coarse with Handle

Works great on my Sheepdog mix's thick coat - rounded ends that do not scratch/injure her skin, and long/sturdy teeth that they get all the way through the coat and pull through tangles without bending. I use in combination with a dematting comb (when necessary) and a comb that is more fine-toothed.

I have a non-shedding dog. My last comb had a plastic handle and the comb teeth were closer together. It eventually broke. This comb will never break! It does get tangles out. I do have a de-tangling comb for matting. This comb is great for casual grooming to keep the matting at bay on a regular basis. It is less severe for combining so my dog is on board with this tool.

massive industrial strength brush here,- for the brushing needs of either an irish wolfshound or a himalayan yak. You could brush through a thick sheeps wool with this, before shearing the animal. With the handle so massive, you can use this instead of a chandelier, to knock someone flat out. The teeth are wide spaced.

Good solid comb!Do wish they had the medium and fine as well as the coarse But maybe later.This comb will never break. My last ones lasted over 20 years, (professional grooming and disenfecting as well as home use) and did not break or rust but disappeared when we moved. Nobody seems to have much that's not part plastic or wood! This comb can be Sterilized in an autoclave!It has very coarse, heavy wide set teeth. Not a finishing comb, but good for hard mats and felted coats.Smooth rounded comb teeth are easy on skin! No sharp edges to tear hair or cut skin!

I give this comb five stars because my Sheltie was running away and hiding when It came to grooming time. I was using a comb with much more teeth and it was hurting her. This comb breaks up the undercoat and makes brushing so much better for her and myself!

Love this comb, it is so smooth when combing. I have two large long haired fluffy dogs. To me it was worth the money. It may not get all the mats out but loosens them up. I start with this comb then work down to a finer tooth comb.
