Final Fantasy X-X2 HD Remaster: Official Strategy Guide Review: Same Great Guide, New In-Depth Sections - Coming from someone who has gamed through FFX roughly 50 times (and X-2 quite a number of times as well), I can honestly say this strategy guide covers everything that the old strategy guides for each game covered! I owned Brady's guides on both and this guide literally combined both guides together in a compact, yet still detailed guide. Interestingly, the print IS smaller, but it still covers everything needed and then some just like before. My favorite part is that it DOES go into great detail about preparations for the Dark Aeons, still has the Monster Arena's enemy drop/steal chart, details on X-2 coliseum, and an easier to read Alchemist mix chart for X-2 (as well as basic suggestions for mixes in X in Rikku's bio, such the mixture for an Ultra Potion, Mighty G, Chaos Grenade, etc., as well as a link to the full X mix chart for online purposes). All in all, for a game that is well over a decade old, it still goes into detail more than some of the recent guides published for games (cough, XIII-2 and KHFM in HD guides, cough cough). For people who have never played the game, or the international game such as myself, and need that little extra help, save money on buying the same two guides and just get this one. It literally covers the exact same things as the original X|X-2 guides plus the additions I listed above. I completely recommend this for anyone who needs help (or just likes pictures) :) Review: Perfect - An absolutely great purchase. I have read some of the other reviews and I'm having problems seeing how this guide won't allow you to get 100% completion. The guide goes into enough detail to get everything done. It tells you all of the items, hidden or not in each specific area and later in that section, how to get them. The guide does a lot of work and even goes into detailing each and every Blitzball player that can be recruited throughout the game. It is great in everything that I have tried to use it for. It goes into a lot of detail for everything I attempted to look up online. It explains in each section how to get specific trophies. The guide itself gives you the opportunity to unlock the Platinum Trophy for each game. On top of everything else it does, it specifically tries to avoid giving you spoilers. This is very hard to do in a guide. They did great work on this guide. I never buy guides because the Internet is better. In this case, the guide was EXTREMELY worth it.

Love this Player's Guide for one of my new favorite games.
I basically brought this Player's Guide off Amazon for 2 reasons: 1: No store in my city has this Player's Guide which I found strange to say the least cause usually when a new Final Fantasy game comes out even if it's a remake of an older one for a different gaming system. Stores that sell the game usually sell the Player's Guide for it. So I was so happy to find that Amazon had the Player's Guide for one of my new favorite games so I could get it from their website. and 2: I'm one of those gamers that when it comes to playing RPG video games. I have a hard time playing them without a guide to assist me so that I can find everything and know how to defeat every boss. Anyway I was very happy with my purchase of this guide. It arrived on the day it was suppose to arrive and it arrived in perfect condition which made me even happier cause I hate getting stuff I order online only to find it's arrived damaged. But anyway I love the guide and am glad I got it cause it's helping to make the game a lot easier and making sure I don't miss any important stuff. A great buy for any Final Fantasy fan who owns this game and wants the guide.

It’s doesn’t have the location of the Al Bhed prime. But at least show me how to defeat the bosses of the game!!

Good Guide, Could be Better
I got about what I expected when I purchased this guide for my son. Here is what he said: "BradyGames essentially just combined the original Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 strategy guides into one. There's both pros and cons to how they worked this into this new guide however. They did include some new information and modified the original wording and maps somewhat to help players work their way through the game. A lot of things are worded much better now, and the guide looks so much nicer in comparison to the old guides. There is a big con though: they removed a lot of the maps from the X-2 portion of the guide. Now, instead of actually pinpointing most, if not all, of the chests on a map in the guide, they only give you a list of items in the area and let you try to find them on your own. This isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world to do in some areas, especially with how hard some of the chests are to find and/or spot. Thankfully, they have included information on most of the new content, including things such as the Dark Aeons & Penance in X while including information on the new dresspheres, Last Mission, etc. in X-2. While they did include some good information, advice, etc., they didn't go too in depth with these additions as they should have. All-in-all, it's pretty much what I expected from them. Unfortunately." So, while this guide offers most of what it should, it's a disappointment at the same time. Still, the guide came quickly and it's in perfect condition. I'd say this was a good purchase.

One final fantasy time.
Best remaster of one of the best Final fantasy games ever created. A must play trust me I wouldnt lie to you. You get two games Final fantasy X and the sequel Final Fantasy X-2 the classic X is better game overall, but FFX-2 has fan service with interesting gameplay mechanics. If you could take out the time limits in FFX-2 mini games I would have enjoyed it a lot more. Overall combo is really good for the price, was totally worth it. Now all I need to do is find time to play it again, to relive the glory days of the peak of final fantasy at least one final fantasy time. This players guide does help somewhat a lot, but I use the internet nowadays.

5 estrellas.

I pre-ordered this guide for the release of FFX and FFX-2 HD for the PS3. A short while after my pre-order was placed, I started seeing a lot of negative reviews of this guide here on Amazon. I thought to myself: "Oh well, at least it was cheap..." and was prepared for a disappointment and a majority of flaws. I could not have been more mistaken. As a disclaimer, I would like to state that I have not read the old original guides for the PS2 release. However, I have played through the games on several occasions since their initial release. Therefore, I can not say much about how this guide compares to the old one, but I can say how it relates to the game. For FFX I looked to the guide only for the missable trophies (okay, I know there's a debate about the al-bhed primers from Home, but I'll not digress into that). As this game has been a beloved friend of mine for many years, I wanted to do it all this time. 116 hours and I got my platinum. The guide served me great on this quest, and I relied heavily on it to not have to backtrack too many hours. Items, strategies for minigames, etc., it's all here. The checklist for the monster arena etc., was very useful. For FFX-2, there seem to be an apparent lack of trophy information. From the top of my mind I think I've seen them mentioned a few times, but there's no complete trophy list - and there's no mention of them in logical places. For example, for the minigame Gunners Gauntlet there's no mentioned of the trophy you can get for reaching LVMAX. Same with getting the Ribbon in Bevelle, and so on. All though not lacking for the game experience itself - since all bonuses and rewards are duely mentioned, I miss having a strategy for the trophies in a game as vast as this. On the other hand, the real positive thing about the guide for FFX-2 is the checklist for 100% completion. It actually is possible to get 100% on just one playthrough, and the guide takes you through it in addition to having a checklist for each place in each chapter. Minigames and dress-spheres are described in great details. I notice some give this a negative review for not including more (or better) artwork than the originals, and that is of course a legit complaint - but I prefer my guide to be just that: a guide. Not an artwork collection. And there's nothing wrong with the quality of the paper either, no matter what I read on Amazon - my guide still haven't been torn... I didn't know the incredible Hulk played Final Fantasy.

I have read other reviews that say that this book is of low quality I am not sure what they are talking about. I have had many guide books and find it unnecessary to have such thick pages and HUGE pictures and to pay over $40 for a guide! The pages were NOT paper thin at all, you have all the illustrations just in a more reasonable size and you get the TWO guides in 1, nothing is missing... it's the BEST VALUE and you won't be missing out. I am very glad I bought this guide and saved myself a LOT of money. Shipping was crazy fast too.
