The wall-crawler's history as it has never been told before. In 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15, fifteen-year-old Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and became the Amazing Spider-Man! 57 years have passed in the real world since that event - so what would have happened if the same amount of time passed for Peter as well? To celebrate Marvel's 80th anniversary, Chip Zdarsky and Spider-Man legend Mark Bagley unite to spin a unique Spidey tale - telling an entire history of Spider-Man from beginning to end, set against the key events of the decades through which he lived! Review: One of the best Spider-Man story’s from today - The book gets better as it goes on and it incorporates Spider-Man’s best eras Review: Another Spider-Man classic - Excellent from start to finish, it is designed like a collage of Spider-Man’s main life experiences. In some ways I feel like each timeline could’ve had more story to them, like maybe two chapters per time period. However, that’s not a criticism on the comic, just what I feel I wanted more of.

A Spider(man)'s Life for Me
When I first heard about Life Story I was curious, a version of Spider-Man's life where unlike the one we know so well he's allowed to age like a normal human? And not just him but the Marvel World in general? So when I saw I could read it all in one book on my Kindle I thought 'sounds like fun' And I won't lie it is a curious, fun, interesting and in places dramatic tale. But that's pretty obvious when it starts with Spidey wondering if like many of his fellow heroes and Flash Thompson he should use his powers to aid America in the Vietnam War, but then also deal with The Green Goblin too. Starting in 1966 and finishing in 2019 we see Peter Parker as his life takes twists and turns both good and bad and classic tales such as Death of Gwen Stacey, Secret Wars, Kraven's Last Hunt, The Black Suit, Clone Saga and even Civil War are given altered takes as the Marvel Universe ages as time goes on. We also see more out of costume drama too as real world events (Vietnam and The Cold War) brought into the mix and even watch Peter face hard choices in his life, hell he even goes through 2 marriages in this story and become a bit of a workaholic. That been said whilst the alternate takes are fun it still are stories we know all too well so only a few moments in the story caught me by surprised but that being said the Final Chapter is a great send off to the story and this is a must read for Spidey Fans of most ages.

One of the Best Spider Man stories in years
First of all Chip Zdarsky is one of the best writers at the moment. Between this and his Daredevil run, the guy is on fire. Second, wow wow wow. What a cool concept and execution (so rare these days!) to tell spideys story in real time since his debut in the 60s is a great premise and the way Chip writes in the events of each decade is so clever and the way he uses them to tell the full coherent narrative? Wow, that elevates this book to S tier. Finally, Mark Bagleys art is just so iconic for Spider-Man thanks to the 90s and Ultimate Spider-Man, I feel he is THE artist people picture when they think of Spidey. Great all around. If you’re a Spider Man fan, this is essential.

Really great spidey story
This is definitely one of the better stand alone Spider-man stories out there. It covers all the major plot points you're familiar with from Peter Parker's life with a few fun new twists. Definitely recommend

Best Spider-Man story I’ve read in years
In my mind this is what all heroes are in a timeline where they exist. They grow older and their new adventures are just chapters in their life’s. This... was masterful. I hope they do the same with all other heroes... it would be particularly interesting to see a Wolverine one that is the same concept but it ends in Old Man Logan. 5/5
