BESSEY BV-HW45 Homeowners Bench Vise

For years I held things in my hand while I drilled them, Yeah, many times I landed-up drilling my hand.. I kept saying that someday I would build a workshop and then attach a vice to my work bench, With this vice, you don't need a work bench. Find an old kitchen table .... or even a short coffee table....... or even a small end table ====.then drill a few holes in it and then attach the Bessey BVHW45 vise with 4 bolts 4 nuts and 4 washers. === Wow !!! you will have a strong vice on a portable bench. It will hold many types of material so you can drill, sand, or attach things together while the glue sets. Just below the regular jaws, the vice has a set of jaws to hold pvc or metal pipes. I give you this review and my invented way of using it as a Christmas present to you.

So far this vice is doing the job. It's a little rough around the edges, lacking a stop to keep from screwing it out too far and a little rough with the screw. I sprayed a little silicone spray on the screw and it works a bit smoother. It's a good vice for minor lightweight work that at typical home owner would be doing. You are not going to crank on this thing like you would a higher quality or stronger vice but it will hold your material. Bessey makes a quality product. A little more refining on the rough edges and this thing would have earned another star. I'm still glad I bought it, the price was right and it works for what I use it for. I do wish I would have gotten the next size up. I also bought the Bessey vice jaw pads with magnets. The pair is a must have. Pros: Price, size, swiveling base, pipe holding or round stock v groves. Great for average home owner an hobby workshop. Cons: Finish is rough, the product received did not look like the product pictured, slight color difference. Rough screw mechanism. Time will tell if this thing holds up. Recommendation: For the price this is a great deal. However I would recommend the next size up. I'd buy it again but would rather have a larger size. Get the jaw pads

I've used this a lot over the last several months. It works great for household projects. Good quality, replaceable jaws, and works well. I mounted it on a separate board so I could install and uninstall it on a workbench with an integral wood vise on one side. That allows me to re-position it as required for different purposes. I recommend it for quality and function.

Great Vise. Fits my work area perfectly and has come in handy already. I needed a vice in my garage workshop and this fit the bill perfectly. Great size and price. Quality is very good too.

It works well!

This is my second one. Vise works great, but don't use the anvil part... Hence being my second one

I installed in 5 mins and it meets my needs. I use the anval for hammering and the opening is good. When you buy a vise, recommend one like this that is secured to the bench instead of a clamp. Also, always look at the opening to ensure you can use as needed.

I will update this review as time goes on. Upon receiving this product, I can't use it because it didn't ship with screws or bolts. Seems pretty hefty, but the outside clamp is a little bit wobbly.

For the price, this is a solid vice. Can whale on this pounding out jammed bolt fragment in nuts, and it grips firmly.

All right for the price the jaws opening and closing a little sloppy (wobbly)

Needed a smaller sturdy vise in the garage and quite pleased, quality is decent and over all im happy with the purchase.
