Toslink Cable-6 Feet Premium SPDIF

Unlike the more expensive, 3-foot optical audio cables I returned to my local Fry's Electronics Store in southern CA, these 6-foot optical audio cables fit my equipments' optical receptacles solidly and remain connected with no sense of looseness. The finger-shank mounted at each end swivels and helps proper seating of the cable in both devices. The outer shield of the cable is attractive and substantial. The protective cover-sheaths at each end are attached to the cable and can't be misplaced. The price is right and the quality is outstanding. Audio performance is superior. If Free Super Saver Shipping were available, I would have purchased several more of these cables. As it is, the shipping cost exceeds the cost of the cable. Still, I am pleased with my purchase.

Item is not the same as described in picture. Connector is square (and not round) as I would have liked it to have been and for some reason one of the connectors won’t fully insert into the port, leaving it only partially inserted. I’m am particularly disappointed because I have seen guarantees by other companies that this wouldn’t happen for their product. Overall, I’d say I’m still satisfied with this particular cable because I like the braided design (dark gray or almost a silvery color) and ample length I need for my particular setup as I absolutely required the type. Still, this cable doesn’t cut it for me in anticipation of upgrading to a longer, higher quality cable that is more suitable to my electronic needs.

What is there really to say, this product works, now I have not tested the durability of this product because I don't want to accidentally break the glass inside it. One other point, the metal around the tips are too big to fit in the New xbox 360 slim. You can barely get the very tip inside where it needs to go, you could mod your xbox and make the hole a little bit bigger without really damaging the xbox. But I wouldn't.

This cable has exactly the kind of quality that I look for to complete the Home Theater Systems I use at home and sell here on Amazon. It is durable with a tough but very flexible casing. The ends have protctive caps and even swivel! I would recommend this SPDIF cable to anyone who wants superior sound with quality equipment.

Works as intended

Bought this optic cable for my Turtle Beach set-up because my cats chewed through the original. I've seen absolutely no decrease in quality, it's thick and braided (no way they'll chew through it), and considering the price/shipping, I don't see why anyone would buy Turtle Beach's overpriced replacement cable.NOTE: One issue I can see people having is in inserting the cable. The cable ends both have large, boxy metal housings protecting the optic inserts (look at the pictures), and unfortunately, the housing can block the cable from fitting into the optic slots of particular devices. I encountered this problem with my Xbox 360 slim, but the metal can be easily sanded down and I've had no problems since.

Neither connector would "snap in," so there was no retention at either my ASUS motherboard Toslink socket, nor on my Vizio sound bar socket. Other cables I tried were firmly retained once inserted. That's really disappointing as it otherwise appears to be a quality cable. (And yes, I removed the dust caps first.)

Good quality and received when promised. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that the item stated "new", but it appeared to be repackaged. Does work great, so I have no complaints there.
