Hohner Accordions Kazoo, Original Version (KC 50)

These are really high quality plastic Hohner kazoos and not individually expensive purchased in bulk. If you need one or two, don't get this, but if you need a lot as I did for my community chorus that needed them for a special Christmas song this is the item you need. We have been so happy that we have included kazoo segments in several other songs throughout the year just because it's fun. We just give them away to the members and over time I have had to purchase another box due to turnover.

I ordered three boxes of 50 kazoos each. I received 3 kazoos. They were shipped from Germany in a flat mailer and arrived intact with no breaking or cracking, so they seemed sturdy. I cannot vouch for the membrane because I didn't open the three individually bagged kazoos in the envelope. I just returned it because it was not what I ordered.

I bought these for my brother’s 14th birthday. He’s an eighth grader. He’s a trombone player. He’s a helper for my old high school’s marching band. Neither of us like the high school band director, we’re both very petty, and I have disposable income. Do you see where I’m going with this? He dumped almost the entire box into his band duffel bag and passed them around during a football game. I wasn’t there, but he described to me (in detail) how the light left the band director’s eyes as he heard the sweet sound of high schoolers blaring into kazoos as hard as they can. I have never been prouder of my brother, little agent of chaos that he is. I will be buying him more kazoos next year, as they were all confiscated at the end of the night.

I'm a big fan of kazoos for parties, programs, special events -- and getting folks to loosen up. For my birthday this year I got kazoos for my chorus and everyone sang - and then played Happy Birthday to me on the kazoos. So special and exciting. Liven things up - Play a kazoo. Good for breath support - and just FUN. These are durable and work well.

The plastic body is durable, better than dollar store-type kazoos. The membrane that makes the kazoo sound is just as thin and breakable as a dollar store kazoo. This is simple reality, and no a fault of the manufacturer. For the price, these kazoos should be individually wrapped and come with several replacement membranes. They come in a box, without wrapping. Even for retail sale, they need to be individually wrapped. Kids will easily break the membrane through a combination of blowing or sucking air through the kazoo while closing off one of the openings with their hand. Yes, it's misuse of the kazoo, but kids are kids. If you are buying the kazoos for a party or classroom, I highly recommend buying a Circle Master Template on Amazon ( product code B000KNJQRK ) to create your own replacement membranes. In a 5th grade class, 8 student needed replacements due to misuse. Cut a sheet of wax paper not too big, say 4 inches square, and use a circle on the template that fits the kazoo hole. On my template, a 17.462 mm hole worked. Score the circle using the thinnest sewing needle you can find. It may take a few tries before you score a circle without tearing the wax paper. Next, grab the circle between your index finger and thumb and gently pop it out. It takes some practice. For the replacement membrane to work, it cannot have any crinkles/folds in it. Working from a small piece of wax paper (4 inches square) helps avoid crinkles. The cap on the kazoo can easily be pulled off, the old membrane removed, and the new membrane gently placed inside, and the cap replaced. The sound the kazoo makes will be slightly different, but utterly unnoticeable unless you play an original and a replacement side-by-side.

The one kazoo I received is a nice purple color, and seems well made for a plastic kazoo. I've enjoyed making kazoo sounds with it, but alas, must share it with my 3 children, patiently taking turns, instead of enjoying at least one, if not several of these marvellous kazoos each... This seller is deliberately misleading. Item said 50 kazoos. I received one. .The paperwork included in the package was even highlighted with an ink highlighter pointing to further down in the item description where they snuck in 'price is for 1 kazoo only'. This seems to be a pre-emptive ploy, as they know full well that the buyer thinks they're getting 50 as this is how the item is clearly advertised. Considering the vast array of other sellers selling multi-dozen packs for just a few dollars, and the manner in which this item was listed (vast array of kazoos photographed, '50 pack' on the main line item description), I think this is nothing but a no good con. Interestingly enough, upon my return to this item page, many details have been changed. I think this is a case of the seller being out of stock temporarily, and looking to make some extra cash on their remaining few 50 packs on the outrageous $6.45 shipping added to each misleading single kazoo sale... BOOOOOOO!!!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

First of all, kudos to Amazon for lightning fast delivery. I bought these for my second grade musical so that every child could have one in the last song. I haven't given them to the kids yet but I just grabbed 10 randomly from the box and they all play great. The paper is covered and securely installed, so I'm pretty sure that if I explain to my kids before I pass them out the importance of not touching that they will be fine. These are not as thick as some plastic kazoos, but they are much higher quality than the "treasure box" ones that you see. There is no comparison to those. I'm giving 75 7-year-olds kazoos in a song. I don't want the volume of the metal ones (I value my sanity.) So, here's my review: You can't beat the bang for the buck on these!

Kazoos are so much fun for kids to play in a school music concert. Unfortunately, I only received one instead of 50 as described. Horner makes the best kazoos. I’m bummed only one student will have the privilege of playing one this year.

Bought for school concert. They worked well. Kids must be taught how to use or they'll blow the membrane. Sing, don't blow into a kazoo!

A estos kazoos de plástico les doy 4 estrellas en lugar de 5 por 2 simples razones: 1-la membrana es muy delicada, no es reemplazable y en el caso de los niños, si le hechan mas babitas de lo normal, se daña en poco tiempo 2-la impresión del logo hohner es de mala calidad, se borra a los pocos días. Por el resto, funciona bastante bien, el sonido es agradable y son resistentes a los golpes. Está bien para un primer instrumento para niños, pero si tocas en una banda y prefieres algo más aguantador, tal vez sea mejor uno de metal.

Los kazoos son buenos pero nada del otro mundo

Certains kazoo ont duré seulement 1 minutes car les pellicules en papier qui fait le son ce sont brisés dès la première utilisation. Parfait pour les fêtes d'enfants mais prévoir qu'il y en a 10 sur 50 qui ne vont pas fonctionner.
