Bought these to winch a loft ladder into position so I could install single handed. Great value and worked well to get the job done. They are sturdy enough if you stay inside rated load. One issue - the ratchet will not release under load. Once you've got whatever lifted you will have to cut lift cord to release.

Quality item BUT once you have raised to required position you have to climb to the top of suspended item to press a catch to lower it again. This of course makes it unsuitable for hanging baskets as the whole idea is to be able to lower for ease of watering & deadheading etc. Maybe, as no instructions included, there is another method but this doesn't seem possible??? Beware of your requirements for usage!!
