True Professional Referrence of supervisors
Excellent Book! The book is a comprehensive and practical reference for many aspects of construction. It covers a lot of content that I don't like memorizing unless I have to. It comes complete with extternal trade references which are practical when troubleshooting an issue, especially amoung peers and higher supervisors.Download the sample and review the table of contents. The table of contents is excellent for hopping between topics espcially when you need clarification or quick reference. The downside of this book is that it may be too technical for some environments that operate by rote procedure or rely on trial-and-error.This book is great for a site supervisors. It's still practical for someone in a specialty since it would give some insight into what another trade does. This is not a how-to book but trade reference manual that does require a pre-existing level of knowledge. It covers the trades involved in construction and includes common tables or information required by that trade. If your setting up a site, supervising a crew, or have to interact with other trades, you'll find this book useful.

Chock Full of Info
I purchased a _Handyman In-Your-Pocket_ years ago and was amazed at the amount of info it contained. Now that I am doing handyman work for a living, I found and purchased the _DeWALT Construction Professional Reference_ and am again astounded at the sheer volume of good, solid, extremely useful tips contained within. From door striker centerline height (40-5/16" from the bottom frame) to clear span charts for different wood species, to nailing schedules, to rigging info, to painting specs, to masonry/concrete, to screw torque charts, this PAL-format pocketbook has an extremely long list of useful info ready for you. I keep mine in the truck with me for reference on the job. The two books have different data sets, and I'm glad I have both HIYP and DCPR. I wish I'd known about the DeWALT book earlier. It's a must-buy. If I ran a crew, I'd buy a copy for each and every one of them. Just Do It!

like it
I was looking for this to assist me with fixing up my house. It has a bunch of stuff in it but it is not as detailed as I thought it would be. It seems to skip around a bit. But it is still useful. I still use it for reference and to make sure I am building to code. More in depth than the dewalt building code reference book. But it still lacks instructions. This is not a book for beginners. However, it is a good purchase, I recommend it.
