Cute
Bought it for a friend that loves Harry Potter and it’s super cute! Lots of good, clear, and detailed coloring pages. Love that it has bonus pictures (art designs and pictures from the movie) at the end :)

Good Quality for the Price
I got this as a secret santa gift for a coworker and she loves it! It did take a little bit to come in, probably due to the holidays, but it arrived perfectly and everything looked good!

Fun coloring book for Harry Potter Fans but has some issues which effect coloring – printed on both sides of page
The media could not be loaded. Attached to this review will be a silent flip-through of the entire coloring book so you can make an informed decision as to whether or not it will work for you.Rather than discuss how this is like or different from the books and/or movie series except to note that the iconic images seem to be taken primarily from the movie, I will discuss only how I feel about it as an adult coloring book. The book is illustrated by a variety of artists and it shows. Some of the designs are simply drawn and some are complex, a few with small intricate details that may be difficult to color. I am really glad that they did not over draw the faces with too much detail as I will be able to add my own blending (this was a problem with the recent Sherlock coloring book.) Some of the designs are quite heavy on black spaces – something I would have preferred to put in myself. Otherwise, the designs are well done artistically. They have included glossy pages at the end of the book – perhaps so we can know what colors are to be used or simply as a fun addition to the book. The book is printed on both sides of off-white heavyweight and non-perforated paper. A good number of the designs are printed across two pages and merge into the bind (which is glued rather than sewn.) I did a count and this is what I came up with: 40 one page designs, 4 of which are “wallpaper” repeating patterns; 19 designs spread across two pages – 5 of which are wallpaper style designs. Unfortunately, a good many of the iconic scenes were in the ones that were spread across two sheets. I was able to bend the binding enough to get the book to lay flat and found that the pages lines up very well and I didn't lose any of the picture into the binding itself. What was weird for me is the smell of the book. I can only think that it is the ink and/or the paper but I had several individuals smell it and we all said it was reminiscent of mildew. I've bought inexpensive paperback books in the past with the same odor and I have never been able to figure out what it is. It is not mildew but it kind of smells like it. The smell is present inside and also on the cover. If you are sensitive to scent, you may want to take this into consideration.I tested my coloring tools: all markers bleed through though Staedler triplus fineliners merely left a shadow of color rather than full ink – but you could tell what the color was from the back of the page. Gel pens did not leak through but again, there was a very light shadow. The paper did well with various coloring pencils. In the end, the fact that ink could leak through and the pages were printed doubled sided was enough for me to take away a point. It forces me into coloring pencils of losing part of the book. I wish the book had perforated paper but I don't detract for that. The odor – well, that may be only a few books, so again, I won't take away for that but do check to see if yours has a similar smell.

Great for Harry Potter fan's
I bought this for my adopted daughter for Christmas. She is a huge Harry Potter fan and is going to love this coloring book.Adult style coloring books are all the rage right now. I glanced through the pages and there are some pretty intricate designs. So I would definitely say an older child maybe 12+.There are 96 pages in this coloring book.I love the cover, so rich looking.Since these types of coloring books have designs on front and back of the pages, I would recommend colored pencils for coloring. Also this paperback is pretty stiff, and I can see where it will seem to be kind of hard to get all the coloring in the 2 piece design. I did not want to bend the book and create a crease, since this is going to be a gift, I will let the recipient bend the book and hopefully be able to utilize the full design. Some reviewers noticed a smell in their books. I am very sensitive to smell and did not notice any smell on the book I received.

Adult me & 10 yr niece loved the style
The art style of the coloring book is quite unique and from the reviews is clearly not a style everyone enjoys. I quite like the design of the pages and the style used. Others have shared examples of the pages. I recommend taking a look at user pictures to see how you feel about it. I don't understand criticisms for too much unused space. There are less than a dozen pages that have a large amount of white space and most of these are pages for the house crests. There are far more pages that make full use of the space. It's quite obvious they based the designs off of the movies. This doesn't bother me but will disappoint some fans. (I'll admit I wish the characters were based off the older HP artwork. But let's face it, the familiar faces from the movies will appeal to a far larger audience)There are some color reference pages in the back - which includes completed artwork and screenshots from the movies.I briefly considered taking off a star for the "raven" on the Ravenclaw crest but decided that was probably a bit harsh for what is otherwise a great book that will bring me hours of enjoyment.Oh and it was a major hit for my 10 year old niece too.

Accurate and lots of details. Great for HP fans!
I do not claim to be an expert in coloring nor do I have much experience with it at all, so excuse my lack of enthusiasm coloring the little details. The pictures I posted are just to show some of the pics in the book. I do like everything about the book, even tho I won’t “waste my time” coloring the frames and much of the surroundings of each picture. It is my first coloring book ever, and I am trying to learn to be a bit more patient and sit still for a while (ADHD kid). I’m a big HP fan, so in that sense, the book is great: the drawings are pretty accurate representing scenes from the movies and the book provides some colored pictures in the end to be used as template. Some stuff I colored by memory, others I googled, while others I just tried to be creative. Overall, a great book to color: lots of details and numerous pictures.
