Ordered these led bulb inserts to use on a project. My son’s backlit dash lights were only working intermittently. So, I decided to try installing some myself. Everything worked out good and these inserts helped keep the bulb snugly in place. I found that it was easier to use a 1/4” drill bit for the hole. I used these with the Edgelec LED’s sold here on Amazon. They come in a pack of several colors. They worked well with these inserts.

Use a 6mm drill for the hole. That seemed to work way better after lots of frustration with a 1/4" hole. Now they are a perfect fit.

These hold 5 mm leds on a panel. Tell us about brightness??? Huh???? Drill the hole, push these in from the front, pop the Led in from the rear. Done.

These hold the led well and do not surround the whole thing. Just make sure whatever you insert them into is a snug fit and the led will hold great

I'm using an old computer case, from 2008, for a new build. I decided to remove all the electronics so I could give it a good cleaning. In the process of removing the LED's, I destroyed the LED holders, from 2008, they fell apart. These are a good replacement. They fit a 6mm hole perfectly. A 5mm LED fit without issue. I've seen these holders on another site. There's a lock ring that fits in the indent on the holder. The lock ring locks both the holder and the LED in place. If you don't want to spend the money on the lock rings, I'm getting along fine without them, you could just use a small zip tie in the indent of the holder.
